Gaunts for wounds, ravener shielding, killing infantry, holding anemy units and monsters in cc til more serious guys come.
Zoantropes to take out smth more heavy, like monolith. and 3ap blasts nice vs armoured troops.
Warriers for synapse, some shooting and still go nice in cc.
3st devs with re-roll to hit are nice vs infantry, even vs SM 3+ armor save. You simply make'em throw many dices.

Don't take the BS+LW, just take the two ST, it's so much more effective. Don't take a VC on your HT either. The best bet for VC is a carnifex. If you want to take warriors do not, under any circumstances, give them ranged weapons. You need to make them as effective in CC as possible and should always give them ST + RC. Your warriors right now are too expensive, 172 points for 3 models that are T4 2W and only have a 4+ save?? Deathspitters are especially terrible, I've been playing Tyranids for years and I can't even remember off the top of my head what their exact rules are. There aren't any screening rules in this game so the gaunts aren't going to be shielding the raveners very much. Raveners are too expensive to take in units of more than one. If you want to take them, take them in units of 1 because they are way too easy to kill and will just end up wasting points for you. If you want a really fast army. Take Hormagaunts and just give them the +WS and +I so they'll hit on 3's and go first against most basic infantry in the game. They're also a lot faster than the other gaunts. If you still want some shooting, take a couple of elite carnifexes and give them two t-l devs and the +BS upgrade. That'll give you 8 shots each, reroll misses, reroll wounds. Hope this helps.

Didn't take any fexes nor because they're not effective, but because an idea of army so i had to take VC on flyrant to take our light tanks and walkers like landspeeders.
Death spitters showed theirselfs really bad, but I simply allmost never rolled a hit.
Had to take BS+LW too, and it really saved agains stealers. in tournament. I knew there will be many tyranid players with genestealers.
Warriers did nice in cc even with ranged weapon and RC.
Raveners are really expensive but do nice job if manage to charge soon.
Horemagaunts would be great, but they don't have rending.

Played with very similar army today.
difference was I took Flyrant with 2 devs
2x3 flying warriers with 1venom 2devs per squad
2x8 devgaunts 2x8 horemagaunts
same 6x raveners
3zontropes w/o psy scream but with 1 synapse

Played vs chaos, did a crash. Only casualities were 2 zoantropes, 3x8 gaunts and 2 raveners
He had obliterators, noise marines, terminators and demon prince.
