So the necrons have the text in their book about poison but it doesn't specifcally say that they are or aren't immune to poison. They give you examples of 'acid rounds' that don't seem to exist so is 'poison' considered acid to the necrons?

I don't have the book, but if it doesn't say that they're immune, they're not, it's assumed that all figures can be affected, the rules must say different to change that. I think you would assume they would use special necron poison...salt in thier fuel tanks or summat.

yeeees. You figure if they know they are facing Necrons they will be sure to arm themselves with the right formula of bio-acid, worm-boogers, or whatever.

The entry on page 13 basically states in a fluffy way the Necrons, despite being mechanical in nature, are not immune to such things as poisons and weapons that affect the nervous system.

Often the best thing to do when a friend doesn't beleive you is to show him the codex to back up your points, or ridicule something in his codex until he agrees to believe you so you stop.
But yeh, effectivly whilst Necrons are immune to poison that would kill us being metalic they will obviously be effected by some things, like rust

Unless of course your lord chooses the WD40 wargear upgrade, which gives +1 on all Rust Rolls.

I always imagine them using a hot-round that uploads windows into the necron and crashes the system.

Man, that's the joy of Anime! To revel in the complete and utter wastefullness of making an unstoppable nuclear-powered combat andriod in the shape of a cute little girl, who has the ability to fall in love and wears an enormous bow in her hair. |

I did back up all my points and most of the people there agreed with me. We showed him very specific references in his rules that said he was immune, but he just came back with the fact that they say the opponent would know they are fighting necrons and in that case would use acid instead of poison. But he thought of opponent as the other player and not the troops. Plus he's a very very stubborn person and doesn't like to lose (even arguments) so I couldn't do anything. But he was also pissed because the turn before I exploded his monolith... which is understandable.

Hold on... just so we're clear, what everyone has been saying is that necrons are not immune to poison. Did you mean to say "wasn't" immune? Not picking on you, just want to make sure that we're on the same page here.

Hang on a sec, if this is right, were you trying to prove you couldnt hurt him?!? Either way Necrons are not immune to any weapons in the 41st millenium, as he said poison round will still hurt them, like Rat poison is poisonous to rats but not to us, its still a poison, and so they would change their guns to use something that would hurt the Necrons, that wouldn't be considered poison to another race.
The reason this is doen is so that in tournaments players dont find their weapons have no effect on the enemy, and helps keep the game simple

Storm Lord, I don't mean to be an ass, but do you sometimes have problems with reading comprehension? The both of you are saying the exact same thing in the above quote.
