I hate to use Khorne with anything, but they have close to zero shooting. So I have enslaved some Tzeentch guys to do the ranged dirty work.

Looks like a pretty nice balance between the two powers.

I'd consider dropping one of the screamers squads, because if your opponent doesn't have many tanks, they become fairly useless. Use the points to buff up the herald, add a couple more bloodcrushers, or maybe round out one of the other units. I can definitely appreciate your desire to keep to the sacred numbers, but as the deep-striking daemons are quite easily shot down this time 'round, the smaller squads might be your undoing..

Obviously, drop the Fury of Khorne come 5th edition.. so surprised they put this in a supposedly 5th ed.-ready codex.

As long as you've brought Tzeentch, grab some flamers?

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

Thanks for the replies. I would like to use flamers, but they are kind of fragile and pretty expensive. Would a squad of flamers be better or would making the horrors into groups of 18 be a better investment?

I love flamers, 3 of them are expensive, but they can do some pretty substantial damage to anything. You can either suicide them close to a squad on initial deployment and hope for scatter, or keep them back and jump them in when the time is right.

Either way, they are a solid investment.

Never attribute to malice which can rightly be explained by stupidity.
