HQ: chaos lord with terminator armors, daemon weapon, mark of nurgle (165) (or is a Sorcerer better?)

Troops:
7 x Plague marines (one champion with powerfist), 2 meltagun (221)

7 x Plague marines (one champion with powerfist), 2 plasmagun (231)

6 x Plague mariens (no champion, but having the HQ in this squad), 2 meltagun (158)

Total = 610

Elites:
5 x Terminators (no champion), but every single one of them gets a combi-weapon, 2 powerfist (195)

extra points = 30

please give me some feedback on this list

much appreciated!

Your HQ is way off, in a Nurgle list you want a Nurgle DP with wings and maybe the Nurgle's Rot psycher power. That HQ is much more effective and the same price as the Chaos Lord you have listed.

I say if your going to be playing cult troops in chaos, play them in even numbers. It really sucks when your point count is off (I'm a stickler for that crap) because you have an odd number of cultists. But I think you Plague marine troops are good as is. 7s is ok for them they are very survivable and pretty deadly. Keep the first two squads but dump the thirds specials and pick up two flamers for them. This could be the forward squad, all they do is run up double flamer and assault in.

Keep the squad of Termies but give them a reaper autocannon as well. They'll be needing it. That leaves you with 40 pts. Give the Termies an icon of Nurgle and that is all. A solid survivable simple list.

I'm sure someone will come along and fix my mistakes soon enough though. Good luck.

Edit: Now that I look at this list, it seems really really low on the model count. Maybe it's just me. You could always run 36 Plague Marines and a Nurgle, wings, Rot DP. Give one dude a flamer or something then... that would be ridiculous though.

Edit2: Ridiculous because you'd lose

Drop the Terminators and take 3 Obliterators.

Take a winged Daemon Prince with MoT and nurgle's rot.
This psychic power is very useful vs unit low armour save.
Obliterators can provide decent cover fire and remove serious threats while your Plague Marines advance.

I've done some ajustments to my army list, for my HQ, i just want it to be different to others, others seems to all choose DP, i just wanna be alittle bit different ^^

HQ:
Chaos lord - Terminator armor, daemon weapon, mark of nurgle

Elites:
5 terminators with 2PFs, and all with combi-weapons

Troops:
7x plague marines, champ with PF, taking two plasma gun with the squad
7x plague marines, champ with PF, taking two melta gun with the squad
6x plague marines, champ with PF, taking two flamer with the squad

for the 3rd squad of plague marines, i am having my chaos lord with them in da squad

it comes to exactly 1000 points

my 3rd squad will play a runup role in the game with the two powerfist and 2 flamer..

tactics and suggestions for this list is much appreciated

this list looks ok, not amazing, but fine at this point level, especially since you won't ever be running.

i'd try to run the plague marines behind some cover and then drop the termies in for a big surprise. that way if the plague marines are in cover anything Ap3 or better has to go through the cover save and the FNP (so long as it's not instant kill strength)

a demon prince with wings, mark of nurgle and nurgles rot cost exactly the same as your lord points-wise. money-wise it is more expensive but much more worth it in the long run.

the reason you need oblitorators instead of the terminators is that you have no anti-tank capability. obliterators are exellent at killing tanks and exellent at killing heavy infantry too, much better than terminators at both. you could drop the teminators, pick up 2 obliterators and then spend the remaining points on a couple more plauge marines. feel free to include the terminators in larger games but you really do need some ranged anti-tank.

taking up the mission

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

I've been playing chaos SM a while now and whilst PM are awesome for certain things, you really need something a bit faster or more focused. Meltaguns on footsloggers have been rarely used in my experience as their real range (6") is too low. I feel this is a bit of a nothingy army - Speed armies will totally outmanouvre you, shooty armies will insta kill you and your range is low and assaulty army will take you apart. Terminators are ok but there is much better stuff (oblits etc)

- You could add some chosen with Meltas (infiltrate)
- Raptors
- Rhinos
- Bikers (i use these mainly because I got the forgeworld set and they're fun to use)

Also, you have no templates - a vindicator would be nice here.

Basically, you have too few unfocused models imo...

My 2 cents

at 1000 points how many opponents are going to have enough heavy weapons to make this list sweat? not many, and the meltas will probably get in range no problem. remember this is a low point list
