So has anyone gotten the new demon books? what do you think? I got the 40k one and it seems good so far, haven't gotten the fantasy one yet. I haven't really played much of the new version of fantasy, just a few small games with my old empire army that I ended up selling. So I'm trying to get back into it.

I want to get some demons for my chaos marines and in apoc games I'll play them as the real stats instead of the generic summoned ones.. Probably just a unit of plaguebearers and maybe some bloodletters, but my marine army is slowing getting nurglier as I build it... and I wanna give the demons square bases to use in wfb.

But since I can't have them as allies with with my beastmen officially, I think I may wanna start a demon army. My beasts are around 1000 pts. So I'd do a demon army at 1000 to start with. But do you really have to have a mixed bag with all gods? What if I wanted just a nurgle army? Would I really be lacking in a lot of areas and need stuff from other gods?

I do have 5 screemers that I was going to use for my beasts, but now I can't. But I dunno if I want a tzeentch army. I was hoping for either all nurgle or nurgle/khorne... so that I can use the same models for 40k and for fantasy.

wadaya think?

I've heard that the fluff in the fantasy book is far superior to that of the 40k book, so that's what I'll be getting.

I still haven't gotten through the 40k book.. I pretty much only ready my codexes when I'm "on the throne" so it takes a while when I'm only reading a few minutes at a time :p

what I hope to have in the end with all this chaos stuff is a nice mixed bag of forces I can combine for apoc games (marines, demons and some traitor guard for spice), and a small but solid wfb army that I can expand upon later as I get back into the game and start seeing what units I might be lacking to help get the job done.

The FB book at least was supposedly designed for mixed god forces and when I glazed over the unit selections It certainly seems that way. One thing to try if you want to tie a mixed force together is to paint them up in an unifying theme.
