This is my WIP Traitorguard leader. Whether he is a radical inquisitor or a bionic senior officer or what.. I dunno yet. He has a glass bulb that fits over his head that I will fill with tinted water effects that gives him the b-movie look that I posted when I was first building him. He has been revised some and his paint is about 80% done. I can't find the bulb atm... may have to buy another automitive bulb to saw in half.

I'm afraid you can't get the full efect without thew bulb... but the dang thing has disappeared. the bulb warps the skull a little due to the curvature of the glass and makes the skull look larger.. that is why I used such a small one now. The regural old skellie heads warped under the glass and looked like giant water heads in my trials.

I think the violets are a bit flat on him right now. Possibly another stage of highlights are in order? Maybe a wash and a highlight? You said he's 80% so you probably already had this on your agenda ^_-.

Grey_Death; you are correct! the purples are not done yet, they are just basecoated They will be ink washed and highlighted.

Arkion: the henchman is just one of my traitor-guardsmen. The army I am working on in many areas atm, from various conversions to a few squads at varying levels of painting.... kinda a huge eclectic mix of WIPs. One day I guess I should consolidate them all into a real army blog.

Found the bulb!! yay.. I hope to have at least one pic up with just the bulb sitting on it before my surgery.. the finished stuff has to wait.

I'm just a bit reminded of the aliens from "Mars Attacks" I think the bulb helmet is a great idea.

This Inquisitor has now officially been dubbed: The freak baby of Skeletor and Buzz Lightyear! I guess if they mated, this would be thier little son.

I'm thinking of adding rust around the bolts and in the crevasses around the metal bits. Does anyone have advice on how to do this or are there any special products I could use to do it?

One quick and dirty way to do rust is to dab/dot parts with chestnut ink.
But I'd hesitate to do that. Your palatte is really nice, and if I were you I'd keep the color scheme as tight as possible.

tinfoil: I am concerned about the color scheme effect that rust would have. I have a wide variety of colors already and probably don't need to add more. However, maybe if I am really really subtle with some rust on the bolts?? I guess I will have to try a small test figure.
