Did anyone know this was comming? I was suprised when I clicked the link and a something strange opened up. The new bits packs are on the U.S. site now. They weren't there the other day. $25 for Baneblade sponsons sounds good to me. -Cheers.

Its a very nice site. I like how the store and fluff pages are one now. Haven't drilled down though it too far yet but I like what I see!

Big shock.. I have been SOOO used to navigating the old site that this one is taking some serious getting used to.

Harder to load on the pc... at least on MY pc..

Although I see that the Battle for Macragge is now $50, as is the Battle for Skull Pass.. did they not used to be $60?

The design is nice., The implementation is awful.

Whenever I click on any of the links, my CPU pegs to 100% usage for 2-3 minutes. That's ridiculous.

Yeah, they have some bugs to work out. So far my Firefox browser has crashed twice trying to view the store.

Overall though, the site is nice and I'm liking the design.

I think someone hacked their US site, because all I get is Welcome to Jboss! index page witha bunch of links from the parent directory.

*edit for stupidity*Nevermind, it wasn't redirecting if I typed in gamesworkshop.com. It just needed the hyphen

Nice design and all, but ... I preferred the shorter load time and the seperation of store & content (which business-wise was a less good idea, I admit). We'll see how this grows on me once I find things again and maybe performance improves :S

Ugh. I REALLY hate how GW is now on the ridiculous-use-of-bandwidth-and-harder-to-navigate-flash-based-content. I can't imagine how difficult it will be for 56k users to access

Aside from that, there's a few things there I hadn't noticed. I think that the Painting guides suffer from (very) small pictures. But there's a painting competition on the site from 3 Slayer Sword winners (each had to paint a terminator lord) that looks very good.

And for orders over $100, you get a special edition Space Marine that looks a lot (only for the better, though) like Captain Cortez... with a helmet.

It looks nice, but yeah its will suck if your not on a decent pc with broadband.

I did notice under the dark angel section that there upgrade kit was really nice, maybe tooo nice looks like for 22 bucks you get 10 robed dark angels 2 assault cannons and alot of other goodies, hell you can make 65% of the cost of the kit back just by selling the assault cannons to one of the bit shops.

I'm witholding judgement for a couple of days, to let them work out any bugs that may pop up. I'm so used to the old page, though, that this is a bit of a culture shock!

looks like they're using AJAX instead of flash on splash pages. No wonder it is so slow. They have a search function now, but searching for "thousand Sons" only brings up 3 items, all of them store things.

I will give them credit for giving adobe.com a run for their money for slowest site.

Maybe once everything gets cached it will be a better experience, but like my employer's site, it is hard to get around if I don't know what I want.

If you click enough buttons, you can get to high-rez pictures of the miniatures, which is a definate improvement. The site is a bit slow, though, I have to admit. I just spent this morning frantically backing-up useful pages from the old site that I could still access directly or through archive.org.

the site is rather slow, but for the info on it is worth it.

you can buy some of the way old school models now, but looks like I'll still be the only person at my store with pewter ones. Also you don't have to dig through pages and pages and pages of blackgobo's just to not find the article you where after.

but this stop script button is getting old....

Of course I choose today to build a leman russ for the first time with no instructions, knowing that they have a nice 'how to' on the site. Oh well, looks like the new site will be better once it actually works.

The plans are still there, I saw them while jumping around the new site.

I think it looks like a new version of the online store with a small section for content if you scroll to the bottom. We'll see if and how it grows on me, but I'm not a fan yet.
