Six friends and myself all got into 40K about two weeks ago. We haven't played a game yet, but we've been painting together every week instead of our normal routine of Dungeons and Dragons. We've got 3 Space Marines, Necrons, Tyranids, Chaos, and myself, Orkz. I'll try to get them to post some army pics too, as their armies are looking pretty good. I'll be posting my army as it grows.

This is sort of a WIP, as I plan to add more additions to this page as my army fills out. After about 12 more boyz and 3 bikez I'll have enough for a 500pt game, but I currently have my biker warboss done. I'm new to miniature gaming and painting in general, so I tried to make due with little conversion using a regular warbike and a regular metal warboss kit. I'm pretty happy with the result, as it almost looks like the boss is too fat for the bike. Keep in mind I'm a noob, and I will take better pictures next time, the lighting in here is kind of wonky and it's past 1AM.

WAAAGH!

poor grot is about to be squig food. the squig is attached by the chain to the boss' neck, and he's leaping off the gun in his banner.

da boss is too fat, and leans the entire bike to the side.

I was originally going to have a hand on the handlebars, but I figure he is big enough to steer with his legs and it seems more orky. The pictures don't show it too well in that lighting, but I had to cut out the entire seat and part of the frame of the bike to make him fit. It is technically an ork choppa (not that kind of choppa) and not a bike. I also trimmed the pouch on his belt and his loincloth a little bit.

More to come, in better pic quality, soon.

Looks very cool, and i'd like to do a Warboss on a Warbike conversion sometime too. I just finished painting my first warboss a few days ago actually.

I'm new to 40K myself, I just started building my first army (da Orkz of course) a few weeks ago.

I need to assemble and paint 11 more boyz and i'll have exactly 499 points. I'm looking forward to getting in some games too. Seems like i've been to busy with work lately.

I'd be interested to see what your 500 point army consists of. Mine is the contents of the Battleforce Box + an additional box of Boyz, I've been meaning to throw up some pics of my modest work. You sir have motivated me to do so. I just need to find my camera..heh.

Right now I'm looking at the warboss on the bike w/ a power klaw, bosspole, and attack squig. 2 units of 10 slugga boyz, each with a rokkit launcha, nob w/ pklaw and bosspole. Stikk bombs in one of the units. One of the units also gets a trukk w/ red paint. Then I have 3 bikers so the boss can attach to a biker squad. One of the bikers is a nob w/ a big choppa. That's pretty much the battleforce w/ one extra box of bikers since I used one on the boss. That comes out to 500 pts, if I counted correctly. To 1000pts, I'll be doing a few more bikers to bolster the unit, more boyz, and then more boyz.

The player making Chaos pointed out that the bike gives me the cover and armor saves of 4+, so I probably wouldn't need a Cybork body, which I originally had.

I also picked up a loota/burna box on impulse, and have no idea if I'll make lootaz or burnaz. Lootaz might help since my group will be playing big player games and I can't charge multiple people at once very well, but burnaz seem to fit my current army trend of more charging.

Looking forward to seeing your army!

The bike only provides the 4+ for shooting, thus the Cybork body is still needed for an invunerable save in CC, which is what the WB on a bike is for.

Ahh, that makes sense. Still have to give the rulebook another quick read and I haven't even played a game yet.
