Hey guys, I'm just coming back after about 5 or 6 years on hiatus. In 3rd edition I played an Ulthwe army, as well as dabbling with some space marines and witch hunters. I'm looking to start up again and I'm looking for a cheap USD / point army (such as Demons at ~$.13 per point). Is Lost and the Damned still viable in 5th edition, or will I have to play with another list's rules? Also, how does the current list perform in tournaments? I'd be interested in anything competitive that catches my eye. Thanks!

You'll have to play with another army's rules, yes. LatD are, officially, no more. Sorry, man. One viable codex people have mentioned as being suited for LatD "counts as" is Orks. They're also highly competitive at the moment, and will likely be even more so in 5th. That could be a start.

The army list is still downloadable, and GW haven't said anything about doing a Squat on LatD.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

If you converted alot of guys or used different models like beasts...you could make a IG army or a Demon army. or both! Don't give up on old models...

-Tournaments you'll need organizer consent or a counts as list (note there is a Dakka article on LATD). AS noted, stand ins batted around are orks, IG, even Nids/demon list

-regular game play, just use the list with any seeding from the Chaos codex coming from the new dex.

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG
-"Don't mind Frazzled. He's just Dakka's crazy old dude locked in the attic. He's harmless. Mostly."
