So I decided long time ago to play SW. Decided to wait for 5th, but I couldn't bear any longer, so I started glueing my infantery, but not after I got the plans to start modelling the 13th company as suggested in Eye of Terror. Now I'm done with 10 Storm Claws, and I was very much liking the grizzled look on them. So I REALLY feel like buying me some more chaos marines and assembling them all as pre-heresy SW armor with scrambled chaos armor.
Now suddenly people start complaining that I won't ever will be able to use these to still play under SW rules, unless I could explain the fluff around it.
So what I'm really asking here is: why would there be a company with the complete SW rules, but equipped with chaos armor and pre-heresy colours, while not using the 13th company rules?

Call it a pre-heresy Space Wolves army.
Alternatively, tell the people giving you crap to shut the heck up, you can assemble/ paint your models however you feel, as long as you are clear what rules set you are using (ie, Space Wolves codex).

Space wolves are such a diverse chapters that you could have your great company any shade of grey and with whatevber armour you want (as long as it does not have actual chaos symbols on it)
Grat companies are all different so you wont need to explain anything to anybody. Your mini's look like SW and you are using Sw rules, nobody should have a problem with that. If they do deal with it Like a true son of Russ and kick the crap out of them.
