Facing a cavalry heavy Bretonnian force soon and can't decide between the salamanders or the stegadon vs. the Bretonnia army.

We're running 2k point armies so my nasty Slaan is taking 1 rare slot.

Other units being:

2 blocks of Saurus
2 skink units
1 skink scout unit
4 krox
skink priest
scar vet w/ pretty standard nastiness

Against bretonians the salamanders wont actually do much, your better off with the stegadon
Just dont let it take a charge from long lances (it will die) and keep it close to the BSB bearing slan
O, and upgrade one of those sarus blocks to temple guard.

Also added a unit of 3 terradons to the mix for march blocking and flanking

A 4th gen is easily enough at 2k.
That also lets you take both the sallies and the stegadon.
I stick the sallies within 12 inches of my BSB slaan for Ld help and in a forest ant the knights can either ignore them and lose 1-2 knights per turn or charge and get stuck in the forest the rest of the game. "
