Food for a Giant Fenrisian Wolf

Hello everyone, I've recently started collecting and painting WH40k miniatures and found myself in a quite query.

Situation is that me and my friend have these SM models and we would like to play against each other, but we have trouble splitting all the models fairly. So I would like some advice how to do this so that we would both enjoy the game. Here's the list:

- SW Venerable Dreadnought (AC and flamer)
- SW Rune Priest (plasma pistol + some axe)
- 2x SM Chaplain (we sometimes played these as librarians)
- 5 Assault Terminators with claws
- 5 Terminators
- 5 Scouts
- 5 Assault Marines with Jump Packs
- around 40 Tactical Marines with few heavy weapons
- 1 Land Speeder
- 1 Rhino
- 1 Predator

We usually bend the rules ourselves a little because we don't have enough models to play a "vanilla" chapter.

Thanks in advance.

Eh, you have more than enough models for that. 1 HQ and 2 Troops for each person is all you need, and you have that and plenty more.

Why don't you just start with the same core and take turns selecting additional units from the leftover pile? For instance, both of you start with 1 Chaplain and 2 10-man Tac squads each. Then you dice off and the winner takes the unit he likes, then the loser does, and so on, making sure each time to pick a unit close to the points of what the other guy just picked. Seems as close to fair as it can get.

Great advice Tegeus. I like the Idea of 'Rolling off' the remainder, would make most games diff?

"Dakkanaut" not "Dakkaite"

We've played according to your advice and it turned out pretty good, I got 2 SM squads, Assault Terminators with Chaplain, Ven Dread + Land Speeder vs 2 SM squads, Terminators with Chaplain, Rhino and Predator.

We played Cleanse for the first time and it was quite fun but I lost on the last turn, because I couldn't get my Terminators into serious combat at all, he shot them one by one with plasma guns and predator :(

Hope it will be better when they allow running for all units, anyone can avoid them if he takes care.

Cool that it worked. As for the Termie problem, well, you just learned why assault Termies suck.
