My friend and I both have Axis Minor Powers companies (Finnish and Hungarian) and are increasingly frustrated by Battlefront's refusal to put out Late War lists for our companies. Does anyone know of a place to get lists for late war Axis Minor Powers, even gamer made ones.

Thanks in advance,

Battlefront isn't on the Eastern Front yet. They're wrapping up the Normandy campaign. You'll most likely see all sorts of PDFs for the Finns and Hungarians when they release the Bagration book in the Fall.

You have the Ostfront lists, right?

The Continuation War ended in 1944 when the Finns flipped against the Axis and fought German forces attempting to secure resources in Lapland. The Germans adopted a scorched earth policy that devastated regions but did not prevent their expulsion. Finnish forces in 1944 would have had armaments comparable to the Germans as they had been supplied largely by the Nazis (Panzerfausts, etc.) Finnish armor included KV1, T26/E, T28, and T34, StuG IIIG, BT42 etc. They would have also had towed 50mm and 75mm AT guns. Confident Veteran for Continuation War as they had seen combat and were motivated to drive the Nazis out.

As to Hungary, it's 2nd Army was all but annihilated at Stalingrad leaving only the First intact. Hungary's power continued to spin downward as it's government was pulled back and forth in struggle. Sentiment increasingly turned against the Axis resulting in treaties with the Soviets, but Germany was not so easy to divorce and eventually resorted to threats and political kidnapping to compel Hungary to renew the fight in 1944. By Feb 1945 the Russians had destroyed the remains of First Army at Budapest. The Hungarians ejected all remaining German forces and were occupied by the USSR.

So not so hot for late war Hungarians... Again, probably very similar to the MW list but with downgraded morale. Maybe Reluctant Trained or Veteran (2nd Army). Conscript for Third Army and the like. Reinforced Second might qualify as Confident Trained.

By 1944, the main battle tank of the 2nd Armored Field Division was the Hungarian Turan medium tank (comparable, but slightly better than a Czech Panzer 38t) while 1st Armored used the Toldi. Turan I (40mm) and Turan II (75mm short) both saw service. Turan III (75mm) existed as prototypes, so maybe appropriate for "what if" LW. A few Panzer III and IV and STuG IIIs were also floating around. Towed AT and the like would also be availible. Of course, Csabas and similar armored and recce vehicles were still around.

Hungary was occupied by the Germans in March 1944, but they fought until the Germans collapsed in April 1945.

Romania switched sides August 23, 1944.

Luckily for you both, that means you can fight each other as the Romanians attacked into Hungary after switching sides.

Bulgaria switched sides September 1944 and fought for the Allies.

The Finns fought the Lapland War against the Germans from September 1944 until April 1945.

So, lots of options for you. I doubt it's high on the to-do list until the main Soviet and German lists are done for Bagration.

No, troll. I did not.

Officially, Soviet operations in Hungary ended on April 4, 1945 when the last German troops were expelled.
