Is it possible to charge multiple units if they are right next to each other?
A guy at my club who has been playing for longer than i care to remember says yes.
E.g. i have 2 units of guants right next to each other and he charges his BA right up the middle of them so its half and half, would this be allowed or illegal?

Ugh, now i feel very noobish for not knowing that charging multiple units is THAT easy. *Sob*, how often could i have charged all these stoopid fire warriors at once?!*Sob*
No, for real, that "new experience" makes, for example large ork mobs even better. Anyone knows whether it will still be that way in 5th?

Hopefully, yeah charge an entire mob into a front line, would be brutal love on a battlefield

It's usually tougher to pull off than it seems. Each model that moves (other than the first one) must end in coherency with the models that moved before it. So if the enemy units are not very close then it won't be possible to charge them.

If they are close, though, punish them for the error!

Just think about trying that in 5th, you'll have 2 units piling into you, though i guess if you've got really good assault units it might mean they win after two rounds and then get to move on after, but it'd be tricky to pull off!

If someone is too cocky with their unit placement there will be hell to pay, like the time i saw a 2000 point guard army get owned by 1 daemon price in CC.

So true:
My harlies cleaned up nid army because the guy had lined them up in 2 rows of 3 units without knowing about the option for multiple assault, he tought he'd get to counter assault with 2 units the next turn no matter which one i would assault. They wiped 2 of the three units, consolidated into the remains of the third which they finished in the nid's player's turn, D6 massacre move, my turn move , fleet and second multiple assault.
It was a gamebreaking move, and just one turn before he had succeeded at making my hq and warp spiders run off the table before they could shoot ONCE.
He shot some of those AP3 small blasts and one of them hit a WS full with 2 partials, he succeeds both partials, wounds with all 3, i get no saves, fail the 25% shooting test, run into diff terrain, take a dangerous terrain test and lose another WS ending them below 50%. my opponent wrote me off as finished because that one shot had made >50% of my army runn off the table and more or less ignored my harlies.

Similar to the Daemon price thing. This guy had a 2000 point chaos army. And in the first and second turns the IG wiped everything out, but the Daemon Prince had entered Combat. No unlike a normal guard player who would make all his forces RUN AWAY from the CC monster an take up firing positions he attacks it with everything he's got. Now this DP had a mark of Nurgle and Wind of Chaos (for those of you who don't know what it is, everything within 6 inches of the Caster takes a strength 3 AP - hit) And procecced to wipe everyone out. Formation is just as important in this game as you units you place.
