The sink.

If we can then maybe they will work on the new codex faster.

How about DE have special guns that kill synapse and make orcs smart, thus taking away their orky powers?

Or instead of just being in the webway, there are DE settlements all around with dark soul stones!

A "space Pirates den?" A slave World?

DE have to wait, because those game turns to mission objectives.
For someone not interested to hold places, but to strike fast and enslave
its a Tricky challenge to write a dex.

Let them enslave enemys (ability to turn control from a unit of your opponent)?
Could be like:
DE calls "enslave"after succesful attack.Opponent fails roll against Ld,unit
is not fleeing then, control given to DE.Can roll against Ld
every following round to pull free.

Dark Eldar could never be recreated without doing a campaign of games. Theres too mcuh torturing and so on for making a dex easy.

America... Feth Yeah!

It's not like the DE mind control the guy, how are they going to get him to fight his own people. Sure, threats work, but I doubt a space marine or eldar would turn on his own men. Perhaps an IG, but no one else would really turn against their own men. They're either too fanatical or too mindless.

To view fantism is his LD stat used! I would give it a 6 + on a d6 against Ld 7. Don't forget, you have to loose first,
roll a d6 and then he can pull out every round.High morale or crazed units could be spared from this rule.
I see it not as total control, just some confused guys attacking everything and hittin their comrades.

Or they could have an injection that they hit a guy with which turns him rabid, then they push him into the middle of his own troops. Like a push back. It still doesn't make sense to me though. It doesn't seem like a guy, apart from an IG, would become so confused that he turns around and shoots his own buddy through the eye. Unless there were some sort of spell or a drug that made him hallucinate (sp).

If you don't like him to hack or shoot ,restrict the options for DE to move them a given distance.
Make it crazy and have the opponent to follow the DE,because they captured a comrade?
Optional you can rescue the captives when destroying the DE unit.
Change it whole and give DE thier own mission objective:

Name a IC or troop-Character, if the DE manage to capture him/her and you can't free him/her
then DE got 1 mission-objective to any existng as bonus.

Okay, I see. That sounds really cool, I guess I needed small simple words But yeah that could totally work. If a guy's captured his unit could abandon their post to try and rescue him. Roll a D6 for every DE in the unit that captured the man and if they roll 5xY (Y being the number of DE) or more they break formation and move 4" toward the enemy, loosing their shooting phase.

Seems good to me . Hit and run tactics could then be used to pull units out of cover.

Cha' mon. Plus it enables DE's to remain behind cover and still pick off troops that run past after their buddies.

"Here they come..." *giggling* "Shh... shh. They're coming..." *snorts and giggling* "Dude, shut up-... oh, go go go go, shoot em shoot em! STOP GIGGLING!"

Ah... I can see it now.

The DE always attack weak or undefended areas. Thats what they do, they dont kill them they keep them for their souls, its the DE way.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Q. Can we make dark eldar into an apocalyptic force of DOOM?

A. Yes, but only to themselves.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

It's the nature of all beings. All intelligent life will become their own end.

This kinda turned into a proposed rules thread, didn't it?

I always thought DE were perfectly suited to be made into a 'special rules' heavy army. Something quirky that could more reflect Warmachine rules.

The only problem is that their fear weapons weren't terribly effective against space marines (or anything resisting fear overall). So they're a WHF army in a 40k world.

So yeah. It'd be nice to see them with some quirky rules that would allow them to bounce out of combat more, mess with troops minds (control opponent's movements or attacks), and have more control over the situation (moving mission objectives)
