How do you think this would do at 1750:

Klaw biker boss
hulldown mekk

3X20 shootas with klawnob (actually one is 19 to ffit mekk)
2X12 trukkboyz, klawnob

3 koptas, one with buzzsaw and bombs

3 battlewagons with rollas (and other do-dads)

Not bad, assuming you hide the Trukks behind the 'Wagons since they can't hide anywhere else.

Personally I'm thinking about a Biker Nob unit to put the Boss in to see if my KoS can survive into 5th Ed; but I don't know about it. I think if you were going to do KoS in 5th, this is what it's going to look like since Trukks are just going to die without a lot of terrain or something bigger to hide behind.

Does get hosed in the Dawn of War mission type where you deploy just two troops and an HQ, but then most armies do in that scenario.

Bikerclaw boss loves the nobz biker mob with FNP. But then again, who doesnt? I would say around 5 guys with 1-2 claws eat thru almost anything. They got the protection to stay alive too with their 4+cover 4+FNP.

Biker boss with 10 nobs on bikes as troops with feel no pain and 2 Klaws and a waaagh banner... this unit is Ded KILLY

I will be running this as part of my orks : ) in 5th ed as not very many people can stop that kind of close combat unit from eating their stuff alive... I also have all of the ork Bikes converted from my 3e/4e freaks

They are expensive, but def worth it

Course that unit is like 1/3 of your army points wise right?

Why not run the ten nobs in a trukk instead? Almost a third less points then the bikes.

You use the bikes cause you get a whole lot of speed and a unit to hide your bikerboss in. 4+ cover and 4+ FNP and counts as scoring unit.

Plus, you don't lose your speed if a few bikers die, you lose the truck and you are hoofing it...

And so, due to rising costs of maintaining the Golden Throne, the Emperor's finest accountants spoke to the Demigurg. A deal was forged in blood and extensive paperwork for a sub-prime mortgage with a 5/1 ARM on the Imperial Palace. And lo, in the following years the housing market did tumble and the rate skyrocketed leaving the Emperor's coffers bare. A dark time has begun for the Imperium, the tithes can not keep up with the balloon payments and the Imperial Palace and its contents, including the Golden Throne, have fallen into foreclosure. With an impending auction on the horizon mankind holds its breath as it waits to see who will gain possession of the corpse-god and thus, the fate of humanity......

I was just considering a Goff Mek army similar to this one..

1850
Mek + Bosspole + Custom force feild - 90
Mek + Bosspole + Custom force feild - 90
11 lootas (one mek)- 165
11 lootas (one mek)- 165
12 shoota boyz in trukk W PKnob+bosspole - 147
12 shoota boyz in trukk W PKnob+bosspole - 147
12 shoota boyz in trukk W PKnob+bosspole - 147
12 shoota boyz in trukk W PKnob+bosspole - 147
20 'ard boys w/ pk nob twin linked shoota and bosspole - 245
Dakkawagon - Battlewagon w/ killcannon armor plates, 4 bigshootas - 180
Dakkawagon - Battlewagon w/ killcannon armor plates, 4 bigshootas - 180
'ardwagon - battlewagon w/ deffroller, armor plates, grot riggers, 4 big shootas - 145

total - 1848

The mek and Lootas sit in the Dakkawagons and are fire support, as the 'ardwagon and Trukks charge into the fray. I kind of see the Trukk acting as sort out "outriders", spraying shoota fire into the flank of the enemy then speeding away, trying to draw fire from the big wagons and setting up a charge on isolated units.

I put 4 shootas on the wagons so that they can survive multiple glancing hits while the meks or grot riggers repair the wagon.

the biggest problem with this list is a lack of high str weaponry. At 200, I may drop a couple shootas from the 'ardwagon and add 4 deffcoptas with custom megablasters, for taking out hard targets.

Not enough 殺氣 ( sorry i have to apologize i honestly dunno how to say this in english ... ) "kill aura" xD -Lunahound
