Do any of you believe that Tyranids should have a tank in their army list. Like a massive Carrier that uses tank weapons (Tyranid bio weapons) moves like a tank and can carry guants or something. I was thinking like near a rhino type of tank with guns? How about it would it work in a Nid list?

America... Feth Yeah!

Maybe like a giant worm with venom sacs and thorn shooters. To move it's adapted to have 4 legs on each side that pull it along. And a jet pack, yeah!

Yeah every played resistance? If not look up a borrower, that kinda thing, something to keep genes safe heading for the front line.

Or, kind of stealing from Zerg's rip off, it's not a transport, but you can have them burrow under ground and move, like 25% slower, but have 2.5x their normal armor, due to disturbed ground padding.

Something like a Harridan is about as close as you'll ever get, I think.

Tank? Nah.

Monstrous bug with Transport capacity measured in Wounds? Sure!

The little bugs would just grab onto the big bug, treating it like an Open-Topped Transport.

The bug with transport would do. But would they deserve any form of transport?

it is possible to do with the gargantuan creature design rules, then you could try it out in apocalypse.

Could try, like having genestealers riding the bio titans into combat. Then hopping off killing all and hopping back on.

Has everyone forgotten the Armorcast model from WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back? The idea was that tyranids entered and exited its anus :O

I think that BOLS has rules and pics of it in its Lords of battle document.

As for creating a new one, tunneling is the way to go I think, and they could pour out its mouth.

Drake_Marcus: It's true- that's why the Space Wolves love termie armour so much. The whole "bear" thing they've got going on is just a thinly veiled cover-up of their huge, hairy cleavage.

That sounds good for the nids, if you can find the rules post thm up and maybe we can modify them to suit 5th ed 40k.

The Gargantuan Creature design rules (published in CA: 2005) had stats for all the old Epic Tyranid creatures including the Malefactor (which carried creatures in it).

Check out this thread here where I posted the info for that creature:

Personally I don't think Tyranids should have a carrier bug (besides the Harridan) as *not* having a transport vehicle makes them stand out from the rest of the armies, IMHO and emphasizes their organic nature.

I think a much more fitting idea is something like the Trygon which Deep strikes and then brings a unit along "with it" the next turn. I think concepts like that are what should be utilized for the Tyranids.

I remember those old Trygon rules, it was quite nasty as it didnt count as deep strike. I was thinking liek a Big nid which has little nids holding onto it. And take them to battle.
