Full day yesterday of visiting moms everywhere. No painting accomplished then.

This morning I knocked out 8 terrain/objective tokens. Totals up to 97,

I printed out the PDFs from Frostgrave, so I’ll dig through some models to find suitable replacements. Also rug out a bigger terrain piece from the Confrontation starter box from long ago, I’ll make it into a piece for Frostgrave.

Edit:not counting the rebasing of the bear as a model.

And set all these guys from the green horde Kickstarter and the terrain piece are getting primed

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Finished up 4 Plague burst zombies from Zombicide Green Horde. I think they fit in with the Blightkings pretty well.

101. Lots of work on terrain and a figure for Frostgrave which I should finish tomorrow, his base is really all I have left to complete.

Nice progress, excited to see all the stuff for Frostgrave. And curse you for showing your Monty Python troop and saying that there are other minis of them out there. Found them immediately and gonna stop myself from buying them immediately, but they are on my wishlist.

And your plans (and probably all the Nurgle minis you paint) have really infected me with the Frostgrave bug. Found out, that the current rules are still free with code from the Osprey website so I downloaded and started reading them this weekend and now am trying to convince my friends that we need a third fantasy skirmish game in our lives

@V, I’m glad the code still worked , it looks like a fun little game. I hope we all get to go out and play it soon enough.

@G, my wife would argue the handyman part

Finished up Demogorgon for Frostgrave. Think he fits the description of the Alchemical Monstrosity for the dark alchemy adventure.

It is described as a large eyeless beast with tentacles. Check, check and check.

Also just whipped up these two. Actually did major retouches to the iron golem and new energy effects. The not iron man had gotten primed yesterday and the two together will be medium and large constructs for game purposes.

Let me know what you all think about the energy effects. I like em, but any tips to make them better is always appreciated.

More later

Thanks Slinky, I was hoping it wasn’t too much.

I finished the bases on the two constructs (had to wait for the basing to dry before drybrushing the snow effect), and found another model that fits in size between the two of these, so iron man will become the small construct instead. It has been brush primed and I started drying right now.

I did however finish off a door. Just don’t open the door. Nothing good comes from opening doors .

Hated to do it, but placed a mail order for some paints . I’d like to support the LGS, but they sold off all their paints to Miniaturemarket (who is also local), and they will restock once St. Louis opens back up. I cannot wait for that as I am churning through stuff right and left.

105 down, I really need to build a couple warbands and force my kids to play during my home stay.

Well Aku-Chan, I get to be a machine when I don’t get to go out .

Well finished the medium construct.

I don’t like him nearly as much because he is just covered with detail for details sake. The fact that all three have clubs just makes it all better though for them fitting together.

Finished off 8 bats as far as I can for a bit as I’m saving the basing materials to do real monsters and characters. Hopefully my resupply will arrive from Miniaturemarket later this week.

Created another warband, no picture yet, but the wizard I saw the Kickstarter miniature of Freddie Mercury. not sure who the apprentice is, some woman from a film, I’ll look it up. They are supported by a man at arms, 2 thugs, a thief, 2 archers a crossbowman and a warhound. I like the models I chose for them, picture coming later, but painting has already started.

106 (8bats not counted yet)

Thanks Dr. H, the bear is from the WizKids Deep cuts range. Link to Miniaturemarkets listinghttps://www.miniaturemarket.com/wzk73551.html
they also have a polar bear in the same line, just walking on all four legs.
https://www.miniaturemarket.com/wzk73727.html
I really like that line from them. In fact I’ve got a few mixed in with this next picture of dollar store animals.

In the middle is an ox and over stage right is a pack mule. Think the sheep, pig and goat fit size wise, I can use the calf as a large cow and the pony as a large horse. The dog can probably still fit as a warhound of exceptional size. Plus it’s lassie, so it can bark and tell me there’s are demons coming from the well .

Bats that are basically done, just need basing completed and figure out how I’m painting the pole they are all flying over .

My order of paints is shipping today from two miles down the road. It might be here saturday . Of course as I’m painting yesterday and almost out of one of the paints I ordered I start looking through my collection and find another pot that’s never been opened . Yep, not being organized means I ordered another pot of something I’ll be set on for a while. That’ll teach me. It won’t but it should as I could have bought another color that I’m low on.

Lastly starting the new warband. Terrible picture I know, I need to clear my workspace again. This getting things done I should making a mess .

L to R. Frank Mercury (Wizard extraordinaire), back up singer/apprentice to be named later, warhound(zombie wolf), archeress in wolf clothing, another archer.
Back row L to R. Thief, thugly 1, Thugly 2 (not nearly as good as he’s had one hand chopped off after getting caught, replaced with a flail) man at arms, and crossbowman

Undecided so far on which wizard school to use, but I have time to decide later.

Thanks everyone. With all the “free” time I’ve had lately productivity should be up. Just hadn’t expected this much.

Wasn’t feeling like painting this morning, kind of inspired by YouTube video last night made by Wyloch. Having seen some bits while cleaning up I decided to make some things.
His video showed a quick way of making potion bottles from two differed sized beads. As you can see in the background I made a few for my Alchemist workshop.

Also emptied a few of the gel nail bead bottles I got off eBay years ago. The beads make decent rivets, and will likely be used as alchemical ingredients in another small project soon, but the glass jars will make great ingredient containers.

Meanwhile the wooden spools fit perfectly inside the plastic washers I saved off of a Foosball table we junked at the church because it got broken. Together with the wooden sticks and some wood glue they made a perfect template for some tables. I might have made a few too many as my hand is now eaten up by the craft knife. The washers were removed afterwards so I can use them for other things.

Bad Ash for scale size, he was just randomly pulled out of the primed Zombicide figs next to me as a reference. He is now back in his box until the magic words are spoken again.

I had a couple extra spools out and a few 25mm bases laying about, so I whipped up a couple scrying pools/bird baths. They just need to be filled with some PVA glue.

Bead bottle close up.

Got 10 or twelve for about $2 if I remember correctly, I think I have a second package somewhere.

Bead potion bottle close up.

Made roughly 30 I think. I’ll experiment with putting some contrast paints directly on the clear part to see if that will make them look full of liquid or not.

My wife has tons of things to do today for school, so I am trying to stay out of the way and quiet. Probably a morning of watching more videos for inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by and looking. I have a few more ideas from the one video to try out, but they are low priority as I already own some furniture in plastic which would fit the bill.

Thanks guys, I’m glad I can start pulling some of these random things together as a useful part of a game. Almost makes it feel like I didn’t waste my money all these years .

Didn’t finish a lot yesterday. Some of the potion bottles didn’t stick together, then some my big gorilla hands clumsily put paint pots on and broke . But the one test I did to see if contrast over a clear bead would look good came out decent...I think.

Next I’ll have to try and just paint it where the glass is only half full....or half empty I guess it depends on how you look at it.

I finished up 6 25mm bases which I’ll test the Valhallan Blizzard technical paint on today when it arrives. I’ll probably put some potion bottles and treasure chests on them as well and just make them random objective markers. Which makes me wonder if I should paint their base trims gold to help make them visible on the playing fields

The rest of yesterday was broken up with short painting times between keeping my kids focused on schoolwork (laughable at best) and keeping them quiet while momma was on video conference calls with school district people and parents talking about what summer school will be like. She is the elementary school summer principal this year. Normally she teaches high school and has been high school summer principal for six or seven years, but since she is certified K-12, she wanted to try to stretch a little.

The little time I got was taken up by two trolls from Blood Rage. Again repaints, this guy is almost done, just need to highlight the golds and the stone hammer head. Man that’s a big nose .

This guy I’m not sure about. Trying for the purple tinge to the skin, but I think I’ll just call him Gilbert the grape troll.
.

We’ll see where the painting and modeling whims take me later.

Edit: so not much done, finished the one troll, and played with some mosaic stones and a piece of square doweling. I used the mosaics long ago to make a fountain. Not sure if I like the scale to it or not, but would make a decently convincing support pillar in a room.

Paint order and extra roll of PLA filament showed up just now, printer coming tomorrow. Cleared a bunch of stuff out of my basement to make space for setting it up.

Larcenous Red Robbing Hood joins the warband. Thief of little skill and littler luck, it was join the warband headed to Feldstat or go to jail. If it wasn’t such a long trip back he would change his mind.

Plus two objectives done. Another is drying.

115 total.
