I have been away for 40k for some time, so please excuse me if this is answered in the rulebook. After doing a few searches to find an answer to this question nothing came up, so here goes.
The Chaos codex says that Chaos Space Marines have bolters and also bolt pistols and close combat weapons. Does this mean that models are able to use both during the course of the game? For instance, would they be able to shoot with their bolters on one their turn, then receive a charge on their enemies' turn and fight with 2 attacks in close combat?

what zoned said. there (as far as i can remember) has never been any restriction on what wargear you can use over the course of a game, only what wargear you could take. unlike some previous codecies the chaos codex places no restriction on how any weapons a model may be equipped with

Thanks for the responses. I wasn't sure why they listed both in the wargear, which is why I asked. Good to know that all of my marines will effectively be A2.

On top of basically being A2, they can fire their bolt pistols before they assault enemy units, too.

I don't believe you can shoot your bolter and assault. Because you used a rapid fire gun. Im sure you can shoot the bolter. then on a different turn shoot a pistol and assault.
idk if that is very clear sorry if it isnt.
