Begin transmission: Report – Engagement with renegade forces While on a routine patrol in the Ursa system, elements of the 3rd Imperial Cruiser Group of Battlefleet Arcana, made up of the Lunar-class cruiser Caesar and Gothic-class cruiser Pharoh were ambushed by two renegade ships, whose IFF signals identified them as the Murder-class cruiser Abyssal and Slaughter-class cruiser Executor. The Chaos ships quickly moved to intercept the Imperial vessels. The Imperial ships followed standard operating procedure and launched torpedoes to break up the renegade formation. The Executor split formation and quickly headed Galactic-West while the Abyssal turned in the opposite direction, bringing their broadsides to bear on the Imperial forces. The Imperial ships continued through the hail of renegade fire, taking several hits to their shields, but suffering no permanent damage. The Caesar and the Pharoh worked in tandem to overwhelm the Abyssal. The weight of their combined fire destroyed the Abyssal's shield generators, quickly crippling the ship. The captain of the Executor skillfully came to a new heading and returned to the fight, causing some significant damage to both of the Imperial ships, and temporarily taking the Caesar’s port weapon systems off-line. Luckily for the Imperial forces, they were still able to finish off the Abyssal which was reduced to a burning hulk. Although the Pharoh ran out of torpedoes, the engineers aboard the Caesar quickly repaired the port weapon systems, and the two vessels were able to double-team the Executor and cripple her. The defiant renegade Warmaster aboard the Executor ignored requests to lower his shields and surrender, and continued to fire upon the pair of Imperial cruisers. The Imperials responded in kind, and in a strong broadside of weapons battery and lance fire, the Executor was also destroyed. The Caesar and the Pharoh have set a course for the nearest spacedock to put in for repair and resupply. End transmission
