Well not far from done now, still trying to decide what color to paint the body of the jugger, my first thought was to paint it a brass type color (like on the trims of the warrior) as i had seen it this way on the daemon army book cover however im not sure how this will look, might take the safe option and paint it to match the armour of the exalted.

Anyways, thoughts, comments welcome.

3 Suggestions:
1. paint him like the Champ
2. paint him like the 2ed jugger
3. A mix of 2+1.

Need better lighting before I can make any calls. Too dark to see anything : /

First thing that comes to mind is that this figure is too muddy. "Muddy" meaning the values of the colors are too close to each other and there for my eye really doesn't know where to go and can't escape. Your flesh tones are too close to the other colors of the juggy (too dark).

This shot has two strong diagonals going through it. The ax down through the arm, out through the chest. However ti's not a full one and could be brought out by adding something in the bottom right corner of the base. Preferably the same color as the ax, making the color travel. The 2nd diagonal goes from the horns of the juggy up through the horns of the helmet. Draw the eyes alnog the diagonals by repeating colors.

It's still difficult to see this mini fully as the light is better than the last one, but still not that great. Take picture of it outside in the shade.

Suggestions:
Paint the juggy's horn bone and make that color the same for the horns of the helmet. Possibly make his skintone white (albino). You will have lots of dark armor/metal against a bright color that should pop out.

Break up the ax color- right now it's monotone. Possibly make the lower blade metal black.

Dark? seriously? have you thought about checking your monitor? on the horn, actually, that is the plan! i intend to do the face and, horn and feet bone color. Also keep in mind that the model isnt finished

Ok, looking at the model, I can see the figure a bit better- works monitor is a bit dark.

However on my new monitor, I can definitely see "muddy" problem still exists. I'd like to see a side shot to get a better grasp of the mini as a whole.

well heres a small update for the hordes watching this topic, almost done now, need to redo the hoves, highlights on the tail and basic tweaking, might see what i can find in my bits box to put on the base.

I personally dont see the issue you see with being muddy, i have painted my army in very dark tones, im personally not a huge fan of the bright red color so many other people paint their Khorne.

This of course is just personally taste at the end of the day!

It's probably one of those models that you need to see in person under natural light. The camera does not do justice to the black parts of the model, they look flat. Great model, how's about some pics in natural light? Take him out to the back 40 and snap off a few shots in the fresh air and sunshine?
