I'm a high elf player but wanted to try something a little different for my second fantasy army so I decided on TKs because there are just too many VC armies out there Picked up the army book and came up with this list for what I want to build around. Never built an undead army, mainly my goal is to have a fairly strong magic phase and be able to bring back my units as much as possible, while my opponent comes towards me.

Lord
281 - TK, Light Armour, Destroyer of Eternities, Collar of Shapesh

Hero
160 - Lich Priest, Golden Ankhra
330 - Lich Priest, Casket of Souls, Nefera's Plaques, Dispell Scroll
107 - Icon Bearer, Light Armour, Mirage Standard

Core

100 - 10 X Skeleton Warriors, bows
100 - 10 X Skeleton Warriors, bows
209 - 14 X Skeleton Warriors, FC, Spears & Shield, Banner of the Undying
190 - 3 X Chariots, Standard, Icon of the Sacred Eye

Special

246 - 18 X Tomb Guard, FC
170 - 2 X Tomb Scorpion

Rare
110 - Screaming Skull Catapult, Skulls of the Foe

Total = 2000

The unit of Tomb guard is going to be the hammer of course, the king will go in there, and I will keep him always within distance of a high priest, or both of them. My hierophant will go into the unit of 14 skeleton warriors, and pretty much use them for protection, mainly just raise any that might die. He's going to sit behind the archers and tomb guard, so there shouldn't be too much threat unless the tomb king's unit dies, which pretty much means im FUBAR anyway. Scorpions are there to take out enemy ranged attacks.

anyway, like i said im new to building undead armies, but pls let me know what you think, any advice is welcome.

Couple of tips:
Regarding characters, magic is the key with TK, so wielding full number of casting characters is advisable. With that in mind switching the icon bearer (unfortunately a poor choice with very medicore stat line and no casting ability) to a prince or priest is a good idea. In addition it has to be said that altough the casket is a cool model, it's expensive for what it does and very easily puts one of your priests in a harms way, so if you're in dire need of points you can drop the thingy. About the hierophant equipment, I belive that avoiding trouble > in trouble but with a ward save, so with that in mind I'd equip him the cloak of dunes which lets him zip around places (this helps him also to get his incantations in range for distant situation).

Regarding troops, the setup looks solid but it's advisable to run the non-bow skeleton blocks with full ranks for maximum static combat resolution as with TK, you can't summon more to grow the units. You're also missing the Icon of Rakaph which is probably the best magic standard in the game (with Drakenhof banner), so seriously consider giving it to the tomb guard as you'll get much more out of the unit with this addition.

wow. Mind if I use that for when I build a TK army? I'll be taking into account the tips too.

Beware the baying of the Wolves.
