Necromunda has caught hold of a few of my brain cells... So I am taking a break from my Defense Laser and decided to start on my redemption gang.

I wanted to try my hand at GS/sculpting. I have a few bits from putting together my Apoc army, just need the base model.

I went to my local game store and asked around looking for advice on which fig to use as a base. I was told IG jungle guys and WH’s. I just could not see them as my brand spanking new redemption gang. So I decided to look around the store. They have a huge area displaying people’s figs/armies. After looking at all of the 40K, Fantasy and war machine; I spotted what I was looking for. As I made the purchase, a guy said the Empire Militia was not such a good pick in his opinion. I hope to prove him wrong.

So knowing I may loose interest in this project, I decided to start with the boss. I figure: Go big or go home! I was kind of nervous; being this was pretty much my first time sculpting.

Here are the stats for my boss:

Name: Tiberious (Priest/Leader)
Equipment: Knife; Chn Swd*(25); *Exterminator(15); Las Pistol(15)

Here are some Pics so far:

My only comment from an aesthetic standpoint is that it looks like he might trip over the cable in any kind of fight. I'd move it so that it goes behind him on the same side as the chainsword arm.

I'd like to see a close-up of the face. And how did you do the hat? Greystuff?

And you do not want to trip when you're carrying a chainsaw that big....

Especially when said chainsaw is attached to a flame-thrower.

Neat fig though! Is the hat scratch built?

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

@ Cruentus: Agreed, I knew it was not tactically sound, but I never thought of wrapping it around to the back; Fixed*, Look at the main post and let me know. The face, hat, straps are all greystuff from GW. I made the hat: started with the brim, then the cone, dented the top, the strap and then the buckel... I hate buckels!

@ Death By Monkeys: Is it silly big? If so, other than scratch, where can I get a smaller one?

@ syr8766: I was not sure if anyone was going to notice it was also a flame thrower… I did not want to have the fuel tank attached to the weapon, thus the tube to the tank. The Hat is scratch built, I modeled it after my old darkness hunter:

If any are interested, I'll do a toutorial on the face when I do the Deacon tonight.

Thanks for the CC! It helps alot!

Nah, I don't think it's too big at all - I was mainly just commenting that you didn't want to trip while carrying something like that. I love the scratchbuild hat.

Looks good. I like the mask alot. Reminds me of Dr. Killinger from Venture Brothers (with his magic murder bag)

You have great sculptinh skills. That hat and buckle had to be a pain to do.... well the buckle had to be hard. Lets see some gangers!

Here are a few more:

Deacon and 3 crusaders

I prefer the shock troop/trench fighter feel –vs- the KKK cartoon look. I also wanted to make them look like they were an actual “Crusading Unit” from a larger army on a “Cleansing Crusade”.

Just need to make 2 more crusaders, 2 Zealots and 3 devouts.

I love the face masks on the Crusaders. Hey, how did you convert the autopistols on that Crusader, btw?

Dude! Casey Jones is going to get medieval on your @$$!

I DOUBLE DOG DARE you to make Goliaths as TMNT to fight against them. Or Delaque as Foot Soldiers with Shredder and Krang.

Double dog dare.

@ Death: I just clipped the mag’s off of the bolt pistols

@Syr: don’t know Casey Jones… The TMNT gang would be fun

Casey needs a cricket bat.

Nice - I figured that's what the pistols were, but wanted to get confirmation. I also dig the las-lock rifles - nice conversions.

Looks pretty good, only thing I'd add is a bunch of torches, and things burning. I didn't see any of your dudes sporting flamers either, which has always been a theme for the Redemptionists.

I think your guys look much more miltant and less religious zealot than many Redemptionist gangs and I like it. Nice original feel to this gang. Excellent work with small conversions! You have really pulled off the bitz bashing and sculpting, now lets see some of your painting skills on these jokers
