This definitely isn't the most effective Lizardmen list you can make, but it's using all the fun models I like and will probably be my normal list unless I decide that I want to take them to Baltimore instead of my Ogres and break down and run the 2nd Gen Slaan. Characters Oldblood - 463 Carnosaur Spawnings: Iztl (Ride Carno), Tepok (+1DD), Sotek (+1 Attack on charge) Light Armor Enchanted Shield Sword of Might (+1S) Aura of Queztl (4+ Ward against S5 or better) Skar Vet - 181 Light Armor, Great Weapon Jaguar Charm (M9) Glyph Necklace (5+ Ward) Spawnings: Tepok (+1DD), Sotek (+1 Attack on charge) Skink Priest - 140 Level 1 Cube of Darkness Spawnings: Mark of the Old Ones (Re-roll for the cube) Core 10 Skinks - 60 Blowpipes 10 Skinks - 60 Blowpipes 10 Skinks - 60 Blowpipes 10 Skinks - 60 Blowpipes 10 Skinks - 70 Blowpipes, Scouts Special 3 Kroxigors - 174 3 Kroxigors - 174 4 Terradons - 140 5 Saurus Cav - 235 Std, Huanchi's Blessed Totem Rare 3 Salamanders - 195 Stegadon - 235 2247 Points

Your core troops make me sad Voodoo Otherwise I do like dinosaurs, and the carnosaur is just generally a fun time. One thing, when I've used him the old blood usually has the "blade of no saves and +1 strength" as opposed to the SoM. Certainly a wicked weapon, though I suppose you don't have the points for it ... - Salvage

so i'm guessing this list is supposed to be big dinos rather than small stuff so i'll ignore the fact that there are no saurus blocks. you need another skink pirest, at least lvl 1 for the extra DD. that will put you at 6 DD. against light to heavy magic you'll have enough stuff to take down enemy magic. do so by dropping one sally as you don't need three in one unit and it'll be easier to maneuver that way. also drop cube of darkness and mark of the old ones, and the glyph necklace from the scar vet. then use the extra point for another dispel scroll as it can be used more than once, and the diadem of power for the other skink priest allowing you to now have 8 DD a turn (by saving two power die). even heavy magic will have trouble facing that many dice.
i know you lose the whole stop an entire enemy magic phase o a 4+ thing but having two scrolls is far better than one, and the 5+ ward isn't really going to save the scar vet in the first place so you don't really need it. now u'll have 20pts to spend elsewhere on other goodies. like the bane head for your scar vet JSOD so he can just run up to whatev character i a unit challenge and kill him

Well I can't take the second Skink Priest as the Carnosaur (somehow) takes up a Hero choice as well, otherwise yes I'd take two Level 1's for defense.
I like the Cube because of what it can do to VC and to a lesser extent TK/Tzeench Demons. A 75% shot to just end one magic phase in a game is pretty big IMO.
I know not having Saurus kind of sucks, but they're just not worth it IMO. Skinks provide shooting and very nice redirectors in order to let the Dino's in the list hit flanks or get charges off on faster opponents. They're literally the tool that lets the list work.

i guess that works but i still think the diadem or two scrolls is much better.
i forgot the carnosaur is the extra hero. in that case i say drop it alltogether, pick up another scar vet, and use a BSB plus a block of saurus warriors. I know they don't look amazing but a big block 6 by 4 will hold against almost any charge until you kill them all.

I've got a list where I attempt to run two blocks of Saurus supported by much of the same stuff here.
But the point of this list was really to run the Carnosaur and make it somewhat "work".

The list looks very solid for a no comp environment such as an official GW Grand Tournament.
With the VC and Daemon Regenerating Bunkers being seen enmasse these days, IMO you really might want to consider the Burning Blade on the Oldblood though.
