Hi ive been collecting da Orks for a while now but have decided with the release of the new Ork rulz and 40k ones to start my Army from scratch. I thought id keep a BLOG of it here so you guys can see what im upto as ive been inspired by many others on the forums. I wrote an army list for 2000 pts the other day and am fairly happy with it. Lots o Boys with Special wpns, Grotz Deff Dreads and Koptas pretty much..

I decided to start with the 10 Lootas im going to have in my army. The 1st box I have finished already, but the rest will be on here WIP.
I decided to do the 1st 5 standard - well pretty much, the odd tinker here and there! 4 Lootas and 1 Mek with Big Shooter and Grot Orderly. The next 5 are going to have converted Gunz orky style.

I began work on them the other day - im pretty much working from scratch delving through the bits boxes and seeing how things look - im totaly unorganised - not like all the pros on here with their sketchs and that - maybe ill become a bit more organised by doing things like this blog Im really looking for any comments on how i could improve on what ive already done. As far as the converting and such goes id also be interested in hearing ideas and getting advise. I hope to update the BLOG regulaly...

Here are the pics of the finished Lootas (Death skullz) I did:

Loota Gun 1 is going to be a massive flame thrower with Fuel Tank. I havent made the actual barrel yet as the one i previously did was just a cut off end from the flame thrower sprue and it was too long and not bulky enough.

Loota Gun 2 is a mini-gun of sorts. I used some wire for a connection for added effect, but have since seen Ein's wire demonstration so will be using that from now on as it seems much more effective, but this will do for now.

I love your blue, care to talk about how you did it?

Right now on my Deathskull Lootas i'm working on i've just been using Ultramarines Blue and the new GW Blue Wash (Azmuran Blue?).

Cheers BRado and Lagduf for those comments im glad you like them!

As far as the Blue goes I used a Regal Blue Base Coat. Then I painted over that with a slightly watered down Ultramarines Blue. When that was dry I used the New Wash Asumen Blue over the top. After that i built up more layers using Ultramarines Blue with mixes of Bleached Bone and Fnally a very watered down Ultramarines Blue and White.

Then after that was all dry i went around all the cracks and craneys with a watered down Badab Black.

Hope that helps

Here are the updates too the super mega flame thrower (ready to paint):

Thanks for the tip on the blue. I think I just need to mix my Ultramarines w/ some white and see how that goes. Probably fool around until I find something I like.

I love that Flamethrower.

Looking forward to seeing it done.

Cheers im really likeing the Flamer too! Last night we had our first club meeting and I was deciding what gun to do next - one of the guys at the club suggested i should make a Waaaghhh Gun jestering mussive size with his hands - so i set about my bits box looking for something with girth - i thought that maybe a sizeable rocket launcher of some type might work !

Afte searching the bits I had the hatches from landraiders, card, tau drones and well that was about it

And heres what i came up with:

Although im happy with this guy I had to have his arm pointing upwards, meaning i dont have much space for a backpack? Im trying to build one out of GS and bits, but not sure how it will turn out? Having no styrene or plastic card is annoying lol

Hi havent written anything for about a week as the kids just broke up for skool holidays so have been fairly busy in my shop! We have the gaming club tomoz so will probs make another 'loota' . Unfortunately i am having to paint some High Elves for a guy in the shop, fortunately im getting paid, but that means orkz are on standby. The good thing is that im painting Swordmasters so get to practice my metal painting skillz (that I dont have)!

Im thinking that i may go over the metal again on my previous lootas with a transparent yellow and blue wash? Or add more coloured parts? Also I still have to finish the backpack for the 'Waaaghhh Gun', but thats on the way

I like the Union Jack might incorparate that onto one of the gunz, rockitz or cloaks my guys have

Pics will follow Wednesday Club

Thxs for the cool comments guys
