Hai!

[Rant]I've been playing Chaos on and off for 10 years now, I field an Iron Warriors chapter when they were bad in the first codex I ever got, Iw's got some cool rules last edition, rightly taken away. I really wish Iron Warriors had some rules, even if the rules were the worst in 40K, at least theyve got some.[/rant]

Anyways I've been out the game for about a year, dont have no dreads or termies, so here is my first Fifth ed army list!

Chaos - 1500 Points.

HQ.

Daemon Prince - 155 Points.
Wings, psyker, warp-time.

Elites.

7 Chosen Marines - 191 Points.
Missile launcher, 3 plasmaguns, infiltrate.

Troops.

8 Chaos Marines - 220 Points.
1 Meltagun, Aspiring champion, powerfist.
Dedicated Rhino Transport, extra armour.

Heavy Support.

3 Obliterator cults - 225 Points.

Chaos Defiler - 150 Points.

Vindicator - 145 Points.
Daemonic possession.

Total = 1497 Points
38 Models.

Im thinking changes wise, more obliterators, replace chosen with plasma dreads, drop the troops down to 5 men with plasmaguns......obviously when I get more money =]

What's your verdict on this list?

Thanks,

Pet

Well if you generally want to run an IW list I don't know what to tell you. But if you want to improve the list here is a start, don't run weapons with good AP. A lot of things are going to end up having cover. I don't think you will enjoy the plasmas as you play with them when things are getting saves anyway. What I recommend is running cultists. Plague marines with a champ in a rhino and PF and Berzerkers in Land Raider. The DP needs to be two DPs with Lash of Submission and wings. That is a really good set up on them. But MoN and Warptime is also really good. Don't run plas/las/autocannon on your Chaos Dreads. They have a rule called Crazed now. Which means that sometimes they kill your stuff. I'd say run them only in a pair so they can target one another with ineffective weapons if they get a crazed result. More Obliterators are a good idea too, they are generally pretty good.

Once upon a time, I told myself it's better to be smart than lucky. Every day, the world proves me wrong a little more.
