what it breaks down to is it possible to put my storm troopers from my witch hunter codex in drop pods? I was just curious because this could be fun giving them a deathwind launcher and actually firing it with a squad of guard popping out.

also can marines ride in a chimera?

no, as these transports are not offered as options for those units and when deploying a squad the only options are in a transport purchased for it or not in a transport, you can never deploy a squad inside another squad's vehicle.

That said, unless the chimera specifies that marines do not fit inside it or that it can only carry imperial guard, you can deploy the empty chimera next to the marines and mount up on turn 1.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

I figured something like that, since a LR doesn't say it can carry guard or sisters but obviously can.

my next thing is that the chimera is not given as an option for SOB as a transport, I'm guessing because their in power armour. but in this case buy the chimera for the guard and deploy it empty and on turn 1 load up and roll. the only restriction I've ever seen is terminators in anything but landraiders, but I don't want people thinking I'm cheating at the local store because I thought of something different with the 5th ed rules.

No. What armor they wear has nothing to do with it. Like Space Marines, Sisters use Rhinos simply because that's the transport vehicle that they've always used. There is no rules that would prevent them from using a Chimera other than the fact that it's not an option for them.

The 5th rules only limit passengers to "any friendly unit."

Your free to put any friendly unit in any friendly vehicle (if it can carry the number or there are no unit restrictions). But the only unit that can start the game in a transport that was not taken as a heavy support option is the unit it was purchased with.

What is funny is if you play larger games with allies, say SM allied with Eldar is a bunch of marines dropping out of a wave serpent. Friendly at the time I think!

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.
