Ah, so they are just going to 3D print the new pieces, attach them to a master Mammoth model, then re-cast it? That is actually pretty genius

Your definition of "Genius" is new to me...
They have NO OTHER WAY to do this.
They now have to go though the pain of prepping a very large 3D model of printing, which I have been told takes a huge effort.
Yet, all my models bought and paid for over 2 years ago are STILL NOT READY!

They keep pushing back kickstarter models to print new things like this, again and again...
I keep asking when the models will even be printed, let alone sculpted, or, you know, shipped…?

So while you see a shiny new mini and get all excited…I see yet another delay to my kickstarter minis…

I have been told again and again to expect my minis in a few months, each time frame is just pushed back…

June 2017? Nope! October 2017? Nope! June 2018? Nope! October 2018? Nope! February 2019 and STILL NOTHING IS DONE!

My email to Mierce, I would encourage everyone to do the same...

Hello Mierce,

Once again I feel I have to chase up the long-outstanding kickstarter fulfilment that is still outstanding.
I have been told many times that the date has been pushed out, last time I was told February 2019.

But instead I see new products being launched, printed, and shipped, with seemingly little attempt being made to complete the orders I and many others made nearly 3 years ago!

It is frustrating because I would have been much better off NOT participating in the kickstarter, and buying these at the next BOGOF or 30% off sale...when they are finally released.
I would pay less than the discounted KS prices, and keep my money in my account earning interest for all this time.,

Uuroch has not even been sculpted...!

Can I please get a firm date for when my orders will be fulfilled?

Thank you,

Yeah, so my understanding is that they won't print the whole mammoth again, just the Howdah, and (I'm assuming) the other bits. Then a traditional sculptor is going to add the additional armor and whatnot to Matmaag (whether they sculpt it themselves, or just convert the printed bits to fit, I'm not sure), and add any extra support so the howdah will sit correctly on his back. My hope is, that the traditional sculptor with also convert the added parts somewhat to adapt the style of the printed parts to fit more with the original Matmaag sculpt. But we'll see.

I heard back from Mierce, I have now been given the very solid and inspiring time frame of: "this year"

They did ship one for me...which was already ready...

Lots of Mierce stuff today (which nobody has posted, tut, tut)

The current thinking with him is this...

We'll be taking so many to Salute; if your order is over £100, you get him for free. You can purchase him for £40 on that day or over the weekend online.

he's so fine! look at that mustache

]Here's another update for Darklands: Savage Hordes III in the year of 2019!

This week we have:
•sculpt work in progress updates from Valentin Zak;
•a link to the forums where you can see this project's fulfilment;
•a reminder that if you play Darklands, head to our forums to find more players!
•...and anything else you can expect from us over the next few months.

Check out these

Again just the one miniature to show this week, and for the Érainn! But what a miniature!

Fat gits like Sreng don't come about without some kind of passion for characterfulness (as long as we assume he's not a chubby chaser), and Valentin Zak certainly has that passion. We absolutely love Valentin's work and we can't wait to see how he gets on with the Fir Bholg unit!

P.S. that's a comb over he's hiding under that pot.

Sreng is on course for a Wave 26 (April) shipment, but we shall see...

Time for another update for Darklands: Starter Hosts II thanks to Jamie getting his groove on with Leofwen!

This week we have:
•sculpt work in progress updates from Jamie Phipps;
•a link to the forums where you can see this project's fulfilment;
•a reminder that if you play Darklands, head to our forums to find more players!
•...and anything else you can expect from us over the next few months.

Here's some...

It's all Anglecynn at the moment! Just one miniature again...

So, now Leofwen is taking shape, we can reveal to you the next step in Jamie Phipps' journey to give the deer-people a warchief...

There's still a few things to do - a dagger on her leg and a scabbard, a deer symbol on the shield plus some all-important undercrackers - but she's definitely getting there.

Jamie's got a lot of other work on at the moment so we're not too sure of an April shipment for her, especially as there's the archer and Fane-Bearer versions yet to do, and of course the mounted versions... but we'll see.

She's looking awesome though!

What's Next?

Jamie will be carrying on with Leofwen, and after her we'll get him to do Annik as he did such a good job on Seza. Bob will be doing Cynemon, Birna and the Wælwulfas at some point soon. I'm very hopeful of bringing this project to a close in the summer (in terms of miniatures sculpted, anyway).

not so sure on her, but I suspect it's the armour making her legs look wrong by givine her a 'false' knee in the wrong place

Flame Born

Posted by Mierce Miniatures (Creator)

It's been a while since the last update on here and for that we can only say, here's one!

This week there's:
•sculpt work in progress updates from Tim Prow;
•a link to the forums where you can see this project's fulfilment;
•a reminder that if you play Darklands, head to our forums to find more players!
•...and anything else you can expect from us over the next few months.

Let's get down to't cattle market with some...

Quite a few miniatures to show this week, and all for the Brythoniaid. That's the Welsh, to you and me! I'm even going to give you a pronunciation guide (using Wikipedia's Pronunciation Respelling Key)!

These here Flameborn of Gwaelod are, of course, conversions by Tim Prow of the original Dyndraig, some of our oldest miniatures, sculpted by Roberto Chaudon back in the day.

Dyndraig should be pronounced DUN-drayg!

The champion of the unit is Torgalhwch (tor-GAL-hukh)...

...not much has changed on him as he already had a helmet and his left arm wasn't holding his weapon, oo-er...

The banner bearer of the unit is Naegann (NY-gan), but he's not done yet...

The first warrior is Gwydd (GWIDH)...

...some fairly big changes on this guy, but Tim's handled it!

The second warrior is Clundoc (KLIN-dok)...

...the shield design is brilliant!

The third warrior is Amabyon (a-MAB-yon)...

...just the one shot for him.

The last warrior, basically the warrior version of the banner bearer, is Naegwg (NY-gug)...

Tim's still got a bit of work to do - the shield on the back of Naegann - and we've had to cast the shield for him and send it back; so there'll be a little while before we get these, and possibly another update for them here.

So, these guys will probably be a Wave 27 (June) shipment simply because we're not sure if we're going to get time to mould them in time for April...

I think Mierce is in cash flow trouble. Catching up on their backlog generates next to zero new cash flow, it only costs them time and labor. From the looks of it they keep trying to sell their existing inventory at a sufficient rate to keep the business afloat on a month to month basis having long ago burned through the money from backers.

They still have sculpts/ ks rewards outstanding from two years ago? Then they have been borrowing from future demand to keep the current business running for a couple of years now from the sound of it.

I am pretty confident the majority of sales happens at initial release(KS), and they aren't selling enough of their current catalogue regularly to give them breathing room to spend time and money on things promised to backers years ago.

Yep, that's pretty much my feeling as well.

The money raised in the kickstarters was apparently not set aside solely to fund the production of those models, but use to expand the business for a perceived future growth in sales that never eventuated.
I dare say Rob was optimistic of gaining traction with Darklands, but hasn't managed to attract the volume of sales he hoped for.

So now, yes they are holding sale after sale to keep the money flowing in from a small but earnest group of fans, whilst they plug away at that still massive backlog.

Once they do eventually fulfill the kickstarters...what then?

Another big Kickstarter?

Seeing how Mierce had the same problem during Maelstromgames times, and they shut the doors then I see not a lot has changed.

Which is a shame, because those Roman models are looking great.

Here's the first Darklands: Savage Hordes II update for March, again thanks to Bob Płociennik who never sleeps, it seems.

This week we have:
•sculpt work in progress updates from Bob Płociennik;
•a link to the forums where you can see this project's fulfilment;
•a reminder that if you play Darklands, head to our forums to find more players!
•...and anything else you can expect from us over the next few months.

Let's have a look at some...

Only one miniature to show, but she's utterly brilliant and for the Khthones Gorgon realm, which is getting some love for the first time in a while...

Bob's work on Klóstiss was nothing short of breathtaking, especially because of his cloth-over-scales technique which looks quite amazing. Medusel is even better, in our admittedly biased opinion...

She will be a June shipment, we hope.

What's Next?

Bob will be doing Vulcanus the Demimagus next and then it's the Saethwr/Helwr and the Rogue-Drunes for him last of all (and then he moves on to finishing Mighty Monsters). Yannick Fusier will definitely be doing the Walvax Netters, we've sent him the harpoon guys to work on. Stéphane Camosseto is working on the Shieldwall Reivers... and then this project is fully sculpted! Woot!

You can track the progress of this Kickstarter project - in terms of sculpts outstanding and fulfilment of orders - on our forums, in the Kickstarter subforum:
•Darklands: Savage Hordes II - fulfilment

Great to hear Yannick is getting the Netters, I'm really looking forward to getting hold of them

Once again it's all Anglecynn and Leofwen is getting there...

Leofwen is very nearly done - at least, the shieldwall version!

Jamie's sorted the pose, it's much better now, and he's added the dagger on her left leg and has begun the deer symbol on the shield. the bow and quiver are added, but not complete as there's no arrers. The "kneepads" on her legs need to go a little higher too.

But she's almost there! Huzzah!

He's begun the deer too, so that should be with us soon...ish... and we think she'll be a June shipment, to be honest!

Fangs of the Blackest Black

Mierce Miniatures

We've yet another update for Darklands: Savage Hordes III in the year of 2019...

This week we have:
•sculpt work in progress updates from Rafael Dioli;
•a link to the forums where you can see this project's fulfilment;
•a reminder that if you play Darklands, head to our forums to find more players!
•...and anything else you can expect from us over the next few months.

Check out these

Well we have an update for you for the Vras, of all kindreds... courtesy of a totally new sculptor to our range, Rafael Dioli!

Now Black-Fang is a host champion, a real nasty piece of work and whilst you can't see it yet he's named after a very nasty tooth that is, well, black. You know the kind of teeth, those you get on inner city estates.Don't @ me.

It's early days of course, but he's getting there!

Black-Fang will be a Wave 27 (June) shipment we think.

What's Next?

Rafael, as long as Black-Fang turns out good, will be doing his mounted version. Bob will be doing the Duguth Ēored and the mounted Anglecynn warchiefs, as well as Culcca and Hedroc... and the rest... well, we'll probably get Bob to do it all!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Some... miniatures to show for the Brythoniaid again...

Tim Prow's been finishing off the Flameborn of Gwaelod this week and they're all done, but Tim's only given me a picture of some shields. So they'll have to suffice...

They're all slightly different, you'll note...

Naegann hasn't changed much from Naegannwg - has just has a shield to go on his back...

So, these guys will probably be a Wave 27 (June) shipment simply because we're not sure if we're going to get time to mould them in time for April.

What's Next?

With the Flameborn of Gwaelod done, that leaves the Cowering Fiends of Dis - which Tim Prow will do - and the Spite of Ýdron and Marzaon, both of which will be sorted out by Bob Płociennik. So this project is almost done in terms of sculpts!

Wow! Great stuff! Glad to see another sculptor added to the mix.

Can you tell us what stuff from the print cue has been molded up? I’m anxious to get a list. I feel like there’s a bunch of cool stuff that’s made it through, that we’d love to see.

Mate I am really loathe to do that because it will inevitably lead to "you said this" - we are so busy right now it's impossible to give you hard and fast dates and times.

Having said that, I can give you immediates. Tim's just printed and moulded all the Werwulfas (including Hror, Thurgis etc.) and he's hard at work on the stuff for Salute and the April releases.

After that he's got the Tower Mammox to print, and after that you're looking at the Holumenn / Steinn. That's all I can tell you...

I mean, I could give you a photo of the board with everything on it, but it would just depress you like it does me.

Sadly we are a tiny, tiny company that can't afford to hire new staff... but we will get there in the end. We always do!

So, that big list of things to get 3D printed doesn't include any of the larger models we've been teased with for, literally, years.
Yes the Mammoth gets priority, and Salute gets priority, because without those sales I'm guessing Mierce goes under.
What's worse is they have TWO backlogs...
The stuff that gets 3D sculpted all has to be printed, and we can see that's a year-long queue that they keep bumping in order to print new stuff, like the mammoth..so gawd knows when that will be done.
Then there's the stuff that hasn't even been sculpted yet...not 3D sculpted, external sculpters.
Savage Hordes III is MOSTLY not sculpted...and no idea when we'll even see them.
I wish this bloody game had gone gangbusters and sold a million copies, so that Rob and co could fulfil their kickstarters in anything like a reasonable time frame...
I am now seriously looking at over THREE YEARS to get some of my orders, two years later than predicted...and that's IF they complete it by June, and there's NO guarantee of that!

Another update from earlier in the week I didn't have time to post before

(it's a good one)

Wahey! We've another update for Darklands: Mighty Monsters Part Deux this month and we are very excited by it because the long-awaited Ograx Reivers are almost there...

This week we have:
•sculpt work in progress updates from Yannick Fusier;
•a link to the forums where you can see this project's fulfilment;
•a reminder that if you play Darklands, head to our forums to find more players!
•...and anything else you can expect from us over the next few months.

Let's take the road to Amarillo with a few...

One miniature to show off today but as always we'll show the rest of the Ograx Reivers for completeness... and because we utterly adore them all...

Yannick Fusier may take a while to get stuff done but everything he does is totally worth the wait. The evidence lies with Konraad's Mob, Ograx Reiver Unit. Look!

The champion of the unit, Konraad is complete.

Look at the size of that chopper!

Yannick's latest work is Maanfrad, the banner bearer. Predictably, he's bloody awesome too!

The banner needs to be a little more upright otherwise he'll overbalance; Yannick is sorting that as I type and then he'll be done...

Kaarl was done a while back and, to be honest, he's got the biggest horn we've ever seen.

He's a blower!

The fattest member of the unit, Aalric (and that's saying something), is now done!

Look at the size of that fuel tank for a love machine!

The awesome Ottaa was done a while back but he's still awesome and worth another view.

That's a big chopper as well!

Fraad is the alternate warrior of Maanfrad, of course, and Yannick will be doing both him and Aarlo shortly - he only really needs to change the arms and head (if it's changed).

Fraad's head has changed slightly of course...

Again, Aarlo will be done shortly by giving Kaarl new arms and head... here's his concept:

With Maanfrad done I should think Fraad and Aarlo won't take too long to do; but we've made the decision to allow Yannick to do the other two units - the Shieldwall and Two Club Ograx Reivers - before sending anything to us. He onlyreally has to change the arms and add shields, so that shouldn't take long. It's easier - and quicker - than us casting them up and sending casts back to him, too!

Same with Aadolf too.

So, it's likely these guys will be a June shipment now; which, when all's said and done, means we'll be getting three units rather than one.

That's definitely worth the wait!

What's Next?

Our Bob Płociennik will be sculpting the Sentinels, Kerberokolossos Unit as well as the Leiptrolls, and Yannick Fusier will do Murcunn and the Oghu Wardens, Oghureach Unit. Uuroch will probably go to Bob as Yannick is... not quick. The results are definitely worth it though...

ONLY 19 LEFT!

Allan's working on these guys soon, so reserve the new Bog Beast unit, along with the strictly limited edition Sucking Mórannach, before they're all gone!

Sucking Mórannach concept, drawn by Kurt Jakobi

Allan Carrasco is, of course, a master sculptor whose works are admired and loved worldwide. If you didn't know already, Allan has sculpted a number of our miniatures, many of which are our best miniatures! The mighty Crémharunc, for example; or the utterly fantastic Qaano; or the brilliant and weird Conjunct XIII, or the incredibly characterful Onumo, or many, many others. In short, Allan produces masterworks for Mierce, sculpts that beg a fantastic paintjob and deserve to be used on your tabletop. Sadly for us, he's also always incredibly busy - so we need to reserve his skills now so that he can sculpt for us next year!

The original Mórannach, sculpted by Allan Carrasco

So when Allan offered his services to Mierce in 2019 we decided to commission something to keep him producing awesome miniatures for us - and we've gone for the simply awesome Beasts of Cill Chonn Bog, one of which he's already sculpted, the utterly brilliant Mórannach, shown above in its original form. He's going to sculpt two new Bog Beasts, of course, but to give you all something different he'll also convert Mórannach into Sucking Mórannach, caught in the act of devouring his mortal enemy, a Gul-Gabrax. That means this is your chance - your only chance - to grab yourself a numbered, strictly limited edition version of this fantastic bog monster, and you can also pat yourself on the back if you do because you've also helped to fund the two new Bog Beasts!

but you can order until then with a tiered discount increase!

The increase in many of our costs - materials most of all - is constant, it seems: and we've had to bite the bullet this time, although we're trying to ensure you'll still get good deals. Thus, the prices of *some* our miniatures will increase on Monday, but not all (see the list below): so you'd better order those bits you want from our webstore now, and as an added bonus, we're increasing our tiered discounts until they do!

The increase is mostly on infantry

It's not as bad as you may think: the increase is mostly on our resin and metal infantry, although a few beasts have increased because of their size. That means there's no increases for any man-sized nobles and monstrous infantry at all!

How long have I got to order at the current prices?

You've got until midnight (GMT) on Monday, the 15th of April to order our miniatures at their current prices - so get your skates on if you've been hanging on for anything!

Tiered discount increase until then!

As an added bonus, we'll be increasing the tiered discounts until Monday!

At the moment our tiered discounts are set to the following: if you have more than £50 worth of webstore items in your basket, you are given an extra discount of 1% on top of the normal discounts we give; at £100 the extra discount is 2% and at £200, it's 4%. We're increasing the tiered discounts to 5%, 10% and 20% respectively until the price increase!

So what's actually going up in terms of RRP?

Here's a list of what's increasing:
•resin 30mm infantry - individually, from £9.99 to £10.99 (£10.99 to £11.99 in the case of banner bearers)
•resin 30mm infantry - in units of 5, from £34.99 to £42.99
•resin 30mm infantry - in units of 10, from £64.99 to £79.99

Mierce's enormous delays have managed to convince me that I really don't *need* to worry about getting 'more' of...anything from them before a price increase.

Or really much of anything at all, until I get my ridiculous backlog of items I already paid for to them and am still owed by them down to a reasonable level too.

A less dense V2 of the Darklands game would be OK as well.

I'm in the same boat Alpharius. I have 12 starter/support hosts and 4 infantry units outstanding. I'm a bit concerned as they seem to be changing the scale of the humans. Plus I haven't been impressed with Joanna and Leofwen...seeing those ogres/firbolg next to the new renders really drives home the difference.

Without a game I think I can get other people to play, there’s no point in buying more models now.

We got some updates yesterday, delayed from Friday

Here's another update for Darklands: Savage Hordes III, and it's a bloody cracker... and that's swearing.

This week we have:
•sculpt work in progress updates from Rafael Dioli;
•a link to the forums where you can see this project's fulfilment;
•a reminder that if you play Darklands, head to our forums to find more players!
•...and anything else you can expect from us over the next few months.

Check out these

Just the one miniature to show this week, and it's for the Vras...

Rafael Dioli has continued his work on the Vras and he's only gone and done the AWESOME Black-Fang on Rend-Terror... expect more from him for us over the next few months! Rafa's a keeper!

Black-Fang on Rend-Terror may be a Wave 27 (June) shipment, if not August...

What's Next?

Bob will be doing the Duguth Ēored and the mounted Anglecynn warchiefs, as well as Culcca and Hedroc... although we may give Rafa Hedroc on his Hound-Horse. As for the rest... well, we'll probably get Bob to do it all!

You can track the progress of this Kickstarter project - in terms of sculpts outstanding and fulfilment of orders - on our forums, in the Kickstarter subforum:
