The tournament will be held in order to raise funds for a fellow hobbyist and family. They have suffered the loss of their 3 month old daughter. In an effort to get the word out on a wider scale I am posting here. Thank you to yakface for allowing it.

The following is the post announcing the event as written....

I want to get the word out on this now, even though all the details are not hammered out. Our little gaming group is hosting a benefit tourney for one of our members who just lost their 3 week old daughter. The money raised will be used to cover the cost of medical and funeral expenses.

This will be a 1750 40K tournament with unique scenarios, tremendous prize support, and a silent auction for all sorts of cool stuff (like painted armies, non-GW gaming stuff, and possibly even non-gaming items, like gift cards to restaurants).

I will post more info as it becomes available, but I wanted to get you all thinking about it now and start spreading the word. Our goal is to make this a unique event, and we are working closely with GW to make sure that it happens. We would really like to pack the house on Aug 31 so please tell everyone who might be interested.
