The new ork wartrucks have so much bitz, poles, spikey things, spindly stuff and whatever else on them that I have no idea at what point the truck is considered to be untargetable (we don't shoot at atennenna, flags, etc...) and at what point the truck is a legal target.

I just played against someone who wouldn't let me shoot at the truck any higher than the hoodscoop. Personally I wanted to blast the gunner with the bolt on rockit, that looked like a pretty solid target.

Thoughts?

Just what the rules say (p60):

"When a unit fires at a vehicle it must be able to see its hull or turret (ignoring the vehicle’s gun barrels, antennas, decorative banner poles, etc.)."

yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?

yakface's 40K rule #3: Codex does not ALWAYS trump the rulebook, so please don't say that!

New trucks are TLOS bastards... But you accept it or get some gorkamorka 'skateboard' trucks. Sounds like he wants some 1" high trucks... He better start modeling.

Most of the new truck is HULL or TURRET. Most people don't use boarding planks or wrecking balls.

This is why we have KFFs!

100% of the new Ork trukks I've seen on the table have had both bording planks and wrecking balls modeled on them.

The rulebook specifically shows how to measure range/LOS to an Ork trukk.
