Started this army about a month ago as more of a goof off side project, it has since engrossed me in it's heroic "Men in Black" theme (Shadows protecting the world from unseen evil and no one ever knowing). I've since began parting with my DA just to fund these guys.

The force breakdown is as follows:

Grandmaster
(3) GKT
(1) GKT w/TH&SS
(1) GKT w/Psycannon
(1) GKT w/Incenerator

(3) 7 man PAGK squads
(2) 25 man Guard Platoons 2 Lascannons 2 Autocannons

(1) Land Raider Crusader
(2) Land Raiders (one potentially converted to a redeemer)
(1) Leman Russ Battle Tank
(2) GK Dreadnaughts
(1) Inquisitorial Issued Warhound Titan w/2x Turbolaser Destructors

Anyway on to the pics!!

GK Grandmaster, I love the chaplain in TDA and couldnt bear to part with him so I lopped off the crozius added a halberd head and scrolls that can double as flails. It does feel like he's lacking something but I dont know what. He also needs a bit of touching up:

Next are the GKT nothing special, but I still love them:

and the Teleport homer/objective marker:

Inducted Cadian Guardsman, just a guide marker for the rest of the army:

Army Shot first half:

Army Shot second half, note I still have 25 more guardsmen to put together and two more weapon platforms:

Crusader w/forgeworld brass etchings (will be a boo boo to paint):

And the big man, hes just a cardstock mock up thats coated with about 4 layers of matte varnish. I'll make a plasticard one when I get the time.

Wow!

I *love* your 'chaplain' Grand Master!

Great stuff!

I think the chaplain would look way better if you elongated the shaft of his halberd. It looks way awkward the way he is holding it. The paint jobs are great.

I'm thinking about making his NFW blue. Comments?

Hmm, you sir are a genius. I think I'll sculpt and extention of the shaft to match the original. I think that might be what he needs.

Nah... He shortened it to level the playing field.

Nice looking start there. I love what you did with the Chappy. Keep us updated.

gotta love the chaplin convertion, such a great model.
as for whats missing, could be worth making the halberd haft longer at the bottom, maybe a bigger blade and more ornate (TK ushabti would work well)
and, if possible, cut off the iron halo and have it around the back of his head like a collar.
that would then leave the back clear for a nice big banner.

last time i used this was for my LOTD commander lol, did pretty much what i just mentioned and it turned out well, ill see if i can dig out some pics.

I have no idea what the TK Ushabti is but I'll look into it. I originally wanted to put the halo behind his head but there was no room :/

Here's a small update:

The updated Grandmaster, I dropped the scrolls, added a studded extension for a double threat. I'm thinking about doing the extension gold, the black is a little off putting. Lastly I finally tried my hand at a force/power weapon effect which I think turned out well:

And I realized that with a warhound with two turbo lasers, having a dreadnaught with a missle launcher is a bit redundant. I didnt, however, want the plain old dread hand, so I cut a bit of plasticard and made a NFW for him. Let me know what you think.

thats a tomb king ushabti, the blade on the left one fits well (2nd from the left could look pretty evil, kinda FF VII style), ive got a few spare ones laying about from previous convertions.

as for the new look on the halberd, the haft looks great, and keep it black, if gold it would draw attention away from the model.

liking the FW on the dread, might be worth adding a few wires to it, maybe one running along the blade.
you could use the origional hand on it, with the blade being wrist mounted.

London.

Great looking army. Will look forward to the following posts.

As for the chaplain, the first thing I noticed was his head. I think it looks a little plain; maybe too rounded? A small Imperial eagle or perhaps some studs could really break up the prominent surface. However, I appreciate that you've already painted it, and might be loathe to make alterations. As a focal point, it's important to the overall look, but ultimately a matter of taste.

Your guardsman looks particularly crisp.

All the best.

I really should be spending my time more constructively.

I had actually put some studs on his head, he wound up looking like pinhead. On another note if I ever wanted to make him a chaos sorcerer it'd be the way to go. Then I tried a brass etched =][= on his forhead but it still looked a little weird. I might try something different but I'll have to think long and hard about it.

Now on to the update. I sat down and worked on my russ, please take note that I am not a vehicle person persay. I tried my best using some effects I found online I hope it turned out well, if there is some input please give it to me.

I like your GK. Not too sure about the IG, but meh.

Don't forget to drill out your heavy bolter sponsons. And all other bolters in the army...it does make a difference.

Quick update aka havent had much time to get anything done:

More work on the Russ, I did a thin line washing around the details:

On this one I sawed off the storm bolter arm and managed to save the shoulder pad and gave this guy a proper storm shield:

And here was my main project tonight, I messed around with the power weapon on one of my justicars and tried to come up with something that didnt look like the a-typical "Power" weapon aka blue. I dont think I pulled it off though I think I more than likely created a candidate for khorne with my poor knight:

I started out with a medium red, I think i'll try again starting out with a 50:50 red/black mix and bring it up to red and see where that lands me.

On another note I have no idea why the hell he looks so chunky, I did him the same way as everything else. With an airbrush, I think it's getting quite obvious that the quality in GW's castings is going down hill while their prices are still running up said hill
