Hey all, I have been a part time CSM player for a few years now but have recently started to play a lot more. I have a few questions about the new codex the new rules and some other tournament oriented questions for you all.

First off, in the newest edition of the CSM:Codex the Land Raider has the special rule Assault Vehicle which allows embarked troops to assault after disembarking. In the 5th edition rules it states that units embarked on a transport can, before the transport moves, disembark move and then assault. So does this now mean that the special rule does nothing, or does it allow the unit to assault before and/or after the Land Raider has moved??

Secondly, I am in the process of converting Dark Angels models to use as basic troops for my CSM army. What is GW view on this in regards to tournaments? I Know that the majority of the model must be a GW mini, but is it ok to use models from a different force while using all appropriate rules from the CSM codex?

Thanks for any and all help, Jake

For the land raider, the Assault Vehicle ability provides an exception to the general case of not being able to assault after disembarking.

And your second question is perfectly acceptable. If you researched a little about the DA fluff you would find out that during the HH the DA chapter split in two. These traitor DA are known as the "fallen" and serve the forces of chaos.

Thanks for the quick responses! I figured that the DA models would be ok to use, but I figure it never hurts to ask

Actually if memory serves correct they are even in the new C:CSM they are the robed marines that have no name given to them.

Check with tourney organizers when in doubt. I know most tourneys allow "counts as" troups (I uses sisters and seraphim conversions in my chaos army for example), but I havn't played in anything larger than local tourneys and RTT's(and ard boyz, but there are pretty much no restrictions on ard boys except that it by wysiwig).
