It's a neat concept, but what's with the random boyz squad thrown in at the end there?

Huh I kinda liked the build with the 20-strong mob more personally, but I'm the kinda dude who always planned around escalation as best he could back in 4th.

Needless to say this kinda list is a pure meta call and will have the obnoxious quality of getting swept by "scrubs" who are still playing with low AP weapons. Against a typical middling to good internet-reading player, I think you could gain a significant tactical and psychological advantage just by telling them you will be fielding Orks, getting them to bust out the canned air on their flame throwers and high ROF weapons, then trying to react as little as you can to the look on their face when you start deploying.

GL and HF.

When soldiers think, it's called routing.

Honestly, I think you should drop your Warboss in favour of Ghazkghull. Ghazkghull makes sure that your slow-moving Meganobz get into close combat (Always count as rolling a 6 for Run distance during a Waaaaagh! turn).

@wight_widow : what do you mean that it is a pure meta call? ive never heard that term before. i do however like the second thing that you said

@MinMax: all of my MANZ are in waggonz, so that sorta negates the need for the waaagh!. also, ghaz is really kool, but is more than 2x the points of my warboss, for only (imo) a little bit of benefit.

thanks a lot!

Well, as in the list is a call based on what other lists people around you will be playing.

I'm an M: tG player when I can convince some buddies to draft with me and I can scare up ten bucks for packs. In that trading card game, in formats based on building decks from cards that you own, usually players try to anticipate what other people will be using. The overall composition of what people will be using is usually referred to in Magic culture as the "metagame." In 40k, because it is a game much more dominated by aescetics (in Magic if a card kicks behind, the art tends to grow on you) with traditionally weaker and more confusing rules, and with a higher proportion of people simply ignoring what they do not like and using various kinds of house rules the term "meta game" remains somewhat controversial.

The net net of the comment is that if people are still playing with 4th edition netlists in you area, it will be very very annoying to slog your way through those las-plas and starcannon squads. With Orks as the first true 5th edition codex, and with "good" list makers preparing against their traditional swarm build, what you are doing playing this is gambling that people will come ready for swarms and cover saves, not big clanking armoured psychopaths.

@everybody besides the OP: I have no desire to derail this thread and I think a parity of posters on this site would rather see him get his comments on his list than see this degenerate into a highly typical dakka semantics fight. This is the "lists" forum not "tactics" or "you make the call". I think I've done an okay job explaining the term to him and I don't think it would be productive to dwell on it too much.
