I've been having some difficulty highlighting Tau armor plates.

I think my main problem is that i'm impatient and I need a nicer detail brush.

Is a good brush, patience, and a steady hand really the key to getting those nice lines on the edges?

Any alternative methods for doing this?

I'm using one of the GW color schemes, the Sa'cea (sp?) cept I believe is what it's called. It's the one where the main color is a mix of Shadow Grey and Space Wolves Grey. Been highlighting with space wolves grey.

I think the key is getting a flat brush. You can use the wide edge to edge very quickly using the lighter color

use the fine detal prush and a steady hand or if you want to be fast use blue panters tape to cover what you dont want to have the highlight and then hit it with an air brush...=)

Using blue tape and an airbrush to highlight?? I think you might be confusing what he is trying to do for something else.
I would recommend using a fine detail brush, and basically just be careful. I remember it took me forever to highlight the one squad of tau fire warriors I have.
