Hi, i'm just starting blood angels and was thinking of going into conflict with them so here goes:

i was thinking that the captain just gives everyone ld 10 and hangs around the dreadnought if it gets in combat, the assault marines go and take far objectives while the tactical marines go to close objectives and split up so they have to tackle 6 troop choices while the death company fly around and get into combat.

I know I'm new back to the hobby but the one thing I see is you only have 1 dedicated anti tank weapon (Dreadnought). Any armor 14 tank is going to target your Dread and make it go boom and stay out of its 24" range. I would say if you can move some of the points around try and equip both of your jump pack squads with melta bombs. All your squads do not need krak gernades they're basically useless on most tanks anyhow just armor wise.

It would also allow you not to waste all your fire from your tactical squads on the hope your missle launchers blow up a vehicle. Other then the adding a bit of anti tank seems like a decent list.

well i could take out the flamers on the tactical squads and put in meltabombs on the assault squads

That would be my big suggestion in a pinch you could shoot the missle launcher but 1 shot is very unlikely to blow up a tank whereas melta bombs you just have to roll a min of 6 on 2d6. I'm not sure how points work but if you remove the krak Gernades on all squads (they're not good anti vehicle weapons) you may be able to hook up all your jump marines with melta bombs.

The reason being I've looked through the lists here and a lot of armies try to take more vehicles thus if you face an Imperial Guard army with 4 tanks you need to be able to remove them off the playing field. With your deathsquad and 2 assault squads + the dread you have good anti vehicle and they play their normal assault role as well.

well i was also thinking of changing my HQ to something else would that be a good idea or not

I'm not very familiar with blood angles HQ units but 115 points seems a little bit much for a guy with power army and power weapon. With such a small detachment of troops I'd most likely put him with one of your existing assault units.

a chaplain with melta bombs and a jump pack would work well.
also improves your assult marines.

to make the points simply put the 2 assult units into 1 10man squad.
get rid of thier krak grens and give em melta bombs.

Well the captain is better in a supporting role, as the bonus that he gives to your troops leadership is very useful. But the chaplain can be decked out pretty effectively for relatively few points (crozius arcanum, bolt pistol,and jump pack) He can make your assault squads nasty CC units.

I'd go with a Chaplain. And if you take a Chaplain with jumpacks it might as well be Lemartes.

well i have krak grenades included in the cost and the captain starts of at 100pts
