So I'm making a demon army. It's going to be all Khorne. This is the list I am building towards.

Nice work. You made the red work well over a black undercoat. I'm trying to figure out your colour scheme.

The generic Thirster is based off the kit model, though heavily repositioned. Skarbrand, on the other hand, I will convert from a Balrog.

Nice and lean scheme on the figs. The red has nice tone, it could use some stronger highlights.

The metals seem unfinished on the bloodcrushers, they seem flat next to the red of the demons.

The bases are nice and give contrast very well to the figs. All together well done. I'm waiting for another update!

metsuri, you say they look flat against the reds,but i think it looks great, nice crisp colour scheme, stands out well, and since daemons are of the warp it adds a like gleam to the army.

also, rough idea on a Skarbrand, use the 40k DP with the head from the new style thirster, then its alot bigger than a standard one, and it stands out alot with its ornate armour.
2 thirster axes will work scale wise, as for the wings, thats all down to how you think of them

Definitely looking great so far.

In these photos, the metals do look a bit flat. A quick hit of a wash, black in this case to keep with the scheme, couldn't hurt. Touched back up with the original color on the high points, it could add a little bit more contrast.

Oh and welcome to Dakka. Good to see some more locals this side of the net!

actually, thinking along lines of washes, try a brown ink, it should get rid of any flat areas, and give it a nice gold tint.

The metals are washed. Perhaps the picture lighting is flattening them out a bit.

Nice looking army! I love the soul grinder. And the thirster looks great, barreling forward like that.

Like I've said on your blog, love the army, list and execution. Agreed on the lean scheme, quite attractive. How you liking Skarbrand? I think he's a hoot, and definitely makes sure that the bloodletters that survive the drop really deliver the hurt.

Thanks you all. I haven't gotten a chance to play Skarbrand yet, my commission hasn't come in, although I am really enjoying the generic Thirster.
