Pretty interesting, I like the spike on the head! Any chance you'll give the barding one more highlight? Seems a little flat to me, but it doesn't look bad at all.

How soon will it be before we see the vampire?

Thanks,

You could do a really dark bronze for the armor and either black or red cloth... or maybe black cloth with red piping. If he's going to have a magic weapon I suggest a glowy green blade.

*Update*

well after talking with my Mother in Law and her reading the page on Blood knights in the codex and her giving some input I weathered the shields and added some skull decals.

I think that you must have a rather cool Mother-in-law!

Also, a nicely done miniature!

I think that the skulls look VERY bright compared to the rest of the model. Perhaps dirty them up somehow?

My center is giving way, my right is in retreat; situation excellent. I shall attack.

It's not that it looks shiny, it's that it is a very bright and pristine white and the rest of the model is dark and dingy, such as the background of the heraldry. If the skulls were dirtier, like that, I think they'd look like they fit a lot better.

I would have to agree with Selestine. The skulls just don't fit at the moment. I like the weathering on the model. Keep up the good work.

yea I just did not want a blue tint...for grey knights I would do boltgun metal with chain mail highlights then wash with blue and then black...so it should work for your chaos

An easy way to add a dusty look is to take some slightly thinned Graveyard earth on a soft brush and dab it off onto your cleaning cloth, paper towel, whatever until there is very little paint left. Then lightly dab the bottom of the caparison working up lighter. This gives the impression of road dust. Work in layers, gradually dusting the bottom until it is where you want it. You can also then highlight a bit with Kommando Khaki using the same technique. It should dull out the decals nicely! You might also try it using your base color over the decals to blend them down. Just be careful an go very light on the paint!

I use this method to weather tanks and vehicles. Since decals and insignia often look too fresh, this method helps tone them down. Also, careful use of washes is effective, but can cause issues with water applied decals.
