hummmmm i think it would have to be bugzilla.
i saw a all CC zilla list that had.
2 hive tyrants with lash whip / bone sword, a set of tallons, and a few other odds and ends. then 6 guards with lash whip and rending claws.
then it had 6 carnifex with 2x tallons toxic miasma, and +1 WS (so it hits marines on 3+ but the hidden fist hits one 4+ )
for troops it had without number gaunts at min sized squads.
and i think it might have even had some ravners in it. not sure about them though
honestly, lets face it. if your shooting the gaunts while 8 TMC are running at you, something is wrong.
at the same time, who can take out that meny T 6 3+ save TMC wounds at 1500 points?????????

Actually, if you are shooting the gaunts while 8 TMC's are running at you, you have a much better handle on the 5th edition game that the nid player does. In 2/3 missions you have to hold objectives with troop units. None of the TMC's are troops. So if all there is to take objectives is the small gaunt squads, it shouldn't be difficult to kill them off and then claim 1 objective for yourself. The other 1/3 of missions ends up being kill points. You get 1 kill point ever time you wipe out the gaunt squads. What's easier to kill, a gaunt squad or a TMC? Oh yah, and how fast do those TMC's move? The same as everything else on foot? Sounds like the opponent mostly running away from them rather than letting them get into hand to hand where they are really dangerous. Sure they will probably corner something eventually, but by then the game's going to mostly be over.

well... you do have 8 TMC's to block LOS to the little guys.
if you take bottom of turn, then if they whipe them out. you will gurentied get them back in turn 6.
the CC list was just one i saw. i woudl say one with guns would be much more deadly. drop the ravners and toss a few VC's and BS's in there and its ouch.
and the problem with just moving things away from the carnies is that if they move, they cant fire the heavy waepons... you can get 2x bolter shot off at 12 inches though.

I'd have to go with Mech Eldar as a deadly and not very friendly list. Triple prism, Wave Serpents loaded up with whatever you choose. Just zip around out of range shooting things.

My triple monolith 1.5k stuff can be particulary mean, especially in 5th where my Liths completely block LOS
It allows me to create a mobile (slow, i know) wall to stop any mean CC nastiness getting at my Warriors/Immortals.
Its a mean thing to do (especially against Orks and stuff), but thats War all over eh?

i think a nidzilla spam list would be pretty nice for 1.5k, plenty of killyness.
wouldnt mind putting it against the monolith spam either.

A standard DE 1500 point list with incubi retinue, lots of Raider lovin, plenty of lance and blaster fire, some reaver jetbikes and 2x talos is devastating in a skilled player's hands....prolly the best army in the game even with outdated rules but hard as hell to play well cause it's very fragile!

In objective missions I've been having more luck shooting all the synapse. Without synapse, all those WoN guants are faced every turn with the choice between giving up any objectives they're holding by lurking, or trying to pass the Ld5 test. Then I just clear off one objective, claim it, and take the win. It's true, though, that it works better in smaller games (like 1500) where it's feasible to kill *all* the synapse on the board. It might even be an inherent weakness of 1500 point nid armies that they can't afford a lot of synapse creatures.
In a KP mission, though, definitely shoot the gaunts.

A viable option, but just keep in mind, if I can see one gaunt, I can kill the whole squad. So they need to hug the back of the MC's or the MC's have to walk in shoulder to shoulder formation. if you take bottom of turn, then if they whipe them out. you will gurentied get them back in turn 6.
True enough, but where are they? They are moveing on the board from your table edge (unless you got them scuttlers). So that means they are no more than 12" onto the table (6" move + 6" run) and that's assuming you roll max for your run. This may be enough to get them back to an objective, but if its one that's already contested, it doesn't do you any good. and the problem with just moving things away from the carnies is that if they move, they cant fire the heavy waepons... you can get 2x bolter shot off at 12 inches though.
Actually, moving doesn't prevent my guaridans from shooting any of their weapons. Doesn't stop my war walkers, my falcon, my vypers, my dreadnaught, or most of the rest of my army from shooting. It does stop my scouts and my reapers though so there are a couple of units that will think twice about it...however they are the units that have enough range to be deployed on the very back of my board edge anyway. In either case, got to be careful about thinking in terms of marines too much. It can come back an bite you. Regardless, from what I've seen, shooty nid units tend to out perform most of the close combat versions in the long run. Of course it also depends on what your opponent has.

Who puts their own objective that far into the table?
Who is going to get through 8 TMCs plus stealers at 1500 points to touch that objective? Remember man, this is fifth, you only need to hold one and contest the others for a win.

Like I said, even if the gaunts can get back to an objective (likely in 2 objective missions, questionable in d3+2 objective missions) its all good. However if there is an enemy unit there contesting the objective then the gaunts are unlikely to get rid of them.
As for who's getting though 8 TMC's...well not much is going to get though them, but pleanty of things will get over them. In a tournament last weekend, I was up against a nid player in a 2 objective mission. On turn 2 or 3 (don't remember which) his lines had gotten a bit past the half way mark on the board. I zoomed my wave serpent (with cargo) 24" right over the heads of his whole line and my flacon was following next turn. After that he had the choice of comming back to try and kill me or continuing his march towards my objective. Either way, trying to catch eldar skimmers is not easy with hand to hand units. Shooting ones have a much much easier time of it...and gaunts are not going to do anything to them.
