I've been out of the loop for a few years and getting back into 40k and was wondering the following...... Are the current marine devastator minis all plastic or are the weapons and backpacks still metal?

Thanks,
Mark

Everything is plastic now in the new set. I loved it...with the amount of magnetizing that I do, it allowed me to expand into magnetizing devastator arms. The metal arms were just a bit too heavy and were prone to breaking. Really reduced the amount of painting I had to do...Paint up 4 guys, then just whatever weapons I needed. If I didn't have the weapon options painted up that I planned on taking, it was easy to do as I didn't have to take the time to trim mold lines, assemble, base, paint, etc a whole guy, just a set of arms.

I've been magnetizing my marines lately as well. However I've been having trouble with the HB+backpack, any suggestions?

dave, i know on ebay they do high strength flat magnets, perfect for large models you dont want to bore out that much, might work well on the HB.

actually the problem I seem to have is the magnet on the pack is being affected by the magnets in the shoulders. So when I put the pack on it tries to twist.

Does the plastic kit apply to Havocs too, or do the traitor legions need to suffer through my inept pinning skills?

put a piece of tin foil behind the magnet, it stops this.

I take great pride in helping people turn the SM's into the CSM's, and the plastic kits for the SM's help alot, tho i wish that chaos got a few new releases in plastic, especially oblids

You can order the weapons from someplace like Battlewagon bitz

http://www.thewarstore.com/battlewagonbits.html

put on some spikes and use them with CSM plastics.
