i have a ork dex on the way, but it should end up arriving around friday.
problem being i have a tourney in 2 weeks, so i need a rough idea of a list so i can start ordering it now and give myself time to paint it.
£ isnt a problem, just need a flexable list with enough shooting, CC and speed elements in it, while having enough orks for some serious bashin'

shouldnt have decided to start a new army this close to tourney time, but i need a break from iron hands.

try a wazadakka army, you get loads of shooting from all the bikes, they are relitively hardcore,good in combat at around 5 per mob and you can put nobs on bikes if you want as well as some looted boomguns for extra shooty death

and it's themed

How many points are we looking at here? I'm going to guess 1,500 from the little flag by your name.

I don't have my codex on me so this is kind of rough:

Warboss w/ Eavy Armor, Powerklaw - 85 pts

30 shoota boyz, 3 rokkits, nob w/ power klaw - 245 pts
30 shoota boyz, 3 rokkits, nob w/ power klaw - 245 pts
30 shoota boyz, 3 rokkits, nob w/ power klaw - 245 pts

This forms the core of your army. You can add whatever you'd want to the side and probably be okay. I'd personally add more shoota boyz, lootas or deffkoptas (for fun).

thanks orkyboss, theme isnt worried about, but from the way it plays makes it a nice idea that will be highly thought about, i was thinking of a ghazghkull army, but points for him are too high, and i would then be too tempted to take 5 mega nobz and a wagon, and after that i wont have much to chose from.

but initial thoughts.

i want deffkotas in it, not sure about thier stats, but love the model and now have 3 on the way (just brought the AoBR box)
figured i cant go wrong with that.

then im thinking about adding the battleforce to it, then i have another nice unit of boyz, a trukk for the nobz, and some bikes, which im sure will be boosted into a much larger unit.

been tol not to go points heavy on a warboss, so i guess ill take wazadakkaand a standard PK boss on a bike.

all units will have nobz with PK's, and as many rokkits as possible, fire enough and a tank will die somewhere along the line.

main units im wondering about:

10 lootas, deffguns seem pretty nice at S7 and D3 shots for whole unit.

and once again, nobz in power armour, high points, but a 2+ save, with a PK, combi rokkit and a trukk might get something done.
can you still get the boosta for mega armour? (re-roll the dice for movement)

nice large unit due to cheap points and the ability to shoot fairly straight, and makes a good diversion.

other than that im open to all suggestions and oppinions.

my my, they took a points cut
ok, no mega nobz, 6 units of 30 orks should provide sufficiant bootin' power.
and just around half my points for the final games, in the earlier ones i suppose i can settle for 4 units of 30.

this may be fun to paint in less than 2 weeks X

Meganobz can no longer take the boosta, nor can they take anything that helps their Slow and Purposeful movement.

A Battlewagon can help them get there faster, however.

An Ork unit I like is Kommandos, who can now sneak in from any table edge without the help of Boss Snikrot. Just don't expect them to survive when they jump the enemy.

i have a unit of kommando's so far, brougt them when they were released as i liked them, got the standard box of 5 and added one with a burna.
