First, I welcome criticisms of my logic in purchasing the Emperor's Children $35.00 set. Be mean, please. Eight plastic CSM and two metal guns! For $35.00!!! WHY! With that kind of spending efficiency, I might as well buy a Hierophant Titan, completely cover him and green stuff, and call him a Spawn.

Ok, now...I do want some Plague Marines. Is their box the same thing? If it is, I'm getting out the CSM, the green paint, and my crappy old drybrush.

your question piqued my interest, since I had an unopened box of plague marines on my shelf that a friend had given me as part of my nascent chaos army.

I'm not sure if what I'm giving you is good news. There are 7 guys. All of the marines and their arms are metal. The backpacks are the only plastic. Weapons wise there seems to be a bunch of bolters and one plasma gun.

Yeah the EC box is pretty disappointing. If I remember correctly there should have been a few other heads as well. But it in no way made it easy to get enough blastmasters and sonic blasters for the army. I had to convert all my sonic blasters from chaos heavy bolters, and at the time I was able to order the blastmasters from the online store. I'm not sure what I'd do if I had to do it all over again today.

i bought the pm box set too. yes its expensive but i only bought one. i have also ordered the FW upgrade for the DG nurgle CSM and termies, and yes again not that cheap but still only one of each. the rest i have made myself with plastic marines and GS. the way i see it....use the professionally sculpted marines where i can (they are sooo much better than i can do) but only ever once. other wise everything looks the same.
so, as a one off cost they are worth it. but if your gonna use them as the base of your army....your nuts, or rich beyond my wildest dreams!

i brought a box awhile ago.
came with 2 weapons.
1 power sword arm
and a few heads.
i think it came with 1 metal backpack too.

Yupp JD. 1 sonic blaster w arms, 1 blastmaster w arms, 1 doom siren backpack, 1 power sword and a couple of heads in metal. And the plastics.

Not a whole lot of stuff but then again some of GWs packs arent that full of options. Its ok but if youre gonna run lots of NMs in your army (like I am) Id suggest not buying lots of these boxes. I convert my NMs out of ordinary chaos marines, possessed marines etc.

I would make the guitars I think that the guitar NM conversion is great and you dont have to buy the crappy box of EC. but thats my 2 cents

GW now sells the sonic blasters as bitz packs.
