Don't you love it when GW releases a codex without models for everything?

Here's my latest conversion for the Changeling. Started with a LotR Ringwraith, and added some greenstuff and other bits. Again, nothing too complicated, but as always, looking for comments.

Straightforward and well done, I like it.

I considered adding some more bitz/greenstuff, but I think it'll detract from the rest of the model.

Not bad at all. What kind of colors are you going to use? Looking forward to seeing the paintjob.

That's another big question. I planning to do my Daemons traditionally, so pink for the horrors, blue for flamers, etc.

That leaves the question of how to do a model that can look like anyone.

Precisely

Totally open for your very own interpretation.

One idea might be to paint it resembling something else entirely... Sharp striking colors to look like eldar, camo to look like IG, that sorta thing.. Or several things at once, contrasting..

Though that make the model too busy, and confusing.

Be sure to post it, however you do end up painting it.

Well done.
I'd be tempted to try adding some sort of Tzeentian sympbol to the head of the staff, if it were mine.
Though the figure already works very well as is.

Tzeentch symbol...hmm...

I don't think they make one that small, do they?

San Diego.

I wonder how difficult it would be to have some flamer or horror or whatever parts look like they are emerging or erupting from the changeling? That way you could paint the changeling in a neutral color like gray or black and paint the emerging bits in the appropriate colors. This would give you tons of leeway for conversions and give you the potential for a unique model for each one.

I would imagine it to be something like a psychological version of the scramble suit in a Scanner Darkly, the viewer seeing what he wants or doesnt want to see.

I'm not painting up a different Changeling for each major army in the game...
