Hello,
My buddy got me into 40k and I decided to go Nids. I have this idea for a Hive Tyrant and wanted some advice. Here are some pictures, I couldn't get the thing to stand so sorry if they're lame.

Ok my idea is to not give it legs, but do I want it flying above the base or should I have it sittting on the base? If you say hover above the base, how do I come about pulling that off? Thanks! This is my first Hive tyrants everything before this has been me putting Gaunts together.

If you smell bad, take a shower before playing me. I hate when people devote too much time to something that they can't even shower.

it looks like it will become a very nice centrepiece for an army. I Would heve to day suspended would look best, but how is the problem as it is pretty heavy I expect...

I think a big rock or stone on the base would be best, as that would give it a balancepoint. Then drill a hole in there and pin the tyrant in place at the start of the tale, lower body using thick metal wire or nails. Maybe use 2 holes (second in the chest). Make the base dark and then paint the wire black. Examples are on the site, just do a search...

hope this helped...

I like so far.

i would suggest posing it over looking something, like a swarm or two of rippers

I like the idea of having his tail curled under him more. At the point where it touches the base you could actually use some steel rod and then sculpt the greenstuff around it. I'm thinking that the atachment points on the body and the base would be drilled and JB weld would be used to ensure a rock solid attachment. If you can wait until I get back from Vancouver I can help you with it.

It looks cool in the pose it's in now though.
