So in his entry it states that flamers, heavy flamers, meltas, and multi-meltas are twin linked. That is pretty clear.

The combi-rules state that you can shoot with either profile listed in the war gear section. Does this mean that since you would be shooting a "metla gun" or a "flamer" it should count as twin linked. At one level I can see that you are shooting with that profile, on the other hand the weapon is not explicitly in the list of weapons that get twin linked.

I would say that Combi-weapons count as whichever component is being fired. For instance, all Combi-weapons count as bolters when using the bolter component, and combi-flamers (for instance) count as flamers when firing their one-shot flamer component.

If someone is arguing they don't count as twin-linked, you could argue that the Avatar wouldn't be immune to combi-flamers and combi-meltas, using that logic.

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

Yup. A Bolter/Meltagun Combi Weapon, when fired as a Meltagun, is indeed, a Meltagun. Same with Flamers.
