Hey there. Rules-wise, you have to use the set gangs. However, remember that there are extra Outlaw gangs, and rules for more (such as Ash Waste Nomads) on the Specialist Games website.

As with all GW games, though, there's no reaon you can't use use other miniatures as 'counts as' troops, as long as they're WYSIWYG. This is even more important in Necromunda, where each model can have unique equipment.

So, you could use Warhammer Chaos Cultists and Marauders to 'count as' your redemptionists, or any other range of models as long as a model with say, a shotgun, actually HAS a shotgun modelled onto it...

I've used a gang of Dark Age Skarrd models to represent Escher and Redeptionists before...

Dunno what the rules are like over here for pushing people towards other forums, but if you're looking for necromunda help, the guys over at Eastern Fringe are some of the friendliest and most knowledgable Necromunda players I've found on the interwebs

So... the answer is "no."

Redemptionists are a bad starting gang. This holds true for every outlaw gang (possibly excepting Spyrers). Yeah, don't start with Scavvies or Ratskins either.

It is just so much more difficult to keep outlaws alive (you have to feed them, and their resources generally give you a lot less cash. Most of your gang will be foraging for food, but if a lot of them get hurt in one match, they'll all be starving to death come the next game).

It would be better to start out with one of the Main Gangs instead.

Try Cowdor. They run a lot like Redemptionists, only a little less extreme and a lot less outlaw. Their fluff and overall look is very similar to redemptionists also.

Right, for enforcer rules, including all their wargear, head over to here:

http://www.specialist-games.com/necromunda/rulebook.asp

About halfway down, there´s a PDF, free to download, and totally legal. Tells you all about enforcers.

If you´re just starting out, I´d also give the enforcers a pass, since they play very differently from other gangs.

Seriously tohugh, use whatever models you like, that´s the great thing about necromunda, it isn´t so hung up on formalities.

As long as you and your opponent are both clear on what weapons each model has, it´s all good.

So have fun, use redemptionist models with Cawdor colors and rules, or whichever combo you like.

See i cant get onto the site it wont let me i managed to get on to the american one though, but to be honest i like the enforcer rules they ignore starvation and the cyber-mastiff rules are good to,i know they cant get territory but heck i love the background and the style.also im making a smallish game table so any tips on that would be helpful and also pics of tables would be kwl.the enforces seem to be the collest units in necromunda.also is there any gaming groups in lincolnshire

mmm looking back i see i talked about territory and starvation rules...you can learn a lot in a day!

Using enforcers is like taking a pistol to a sword fight. In my past experience enforcers should be used as special campaign force and not a main gang. They are just a bit too tough as they dont suffer from starvation and if one dies they get replaced and they have good weapons.

I started a cawdor gang once based on another users converstions. They were made from LotR ringwraiths and various guns. The whole robed look suits them well. You
could use the empire flagellents aswel, Ive seen a nice redemptionists gang somewhere made from them. As long as the cawdor faces are covered you cant go wrong. If not cawdor you could give an escher gang a go made from wood elves.

I had an adventerous plan for some delaques made from scout legs, marauder bodies and greenstuffed cloaks......never happened

Well, the Van Saars are famous for being relatively high tech and for wearing Carapace armour. They also get more sophisticated weapons easier.

My gang"Death watch)

The streets are dangerous for most and many citiziens find themselves cought in between rival gangs shootouts,The enforcers duty is to protect the citizens and subdue the threats that these gangs causes. The enforcers are brutal there "kill first ask questions later" policy as ended many a innocent mans life,But now a new Justice has arisen The Death Watch there black armour shrouds them in the darkness there cold faces hidden behind masks,The death watch has many backers but they are ever watchfull handing out violent justice to any gang members who think they can play...Big,

Needs work,and spelling

So if i want the same style wepons as enforcers but the rules of a standard gang what should i do!!!

can they wield bolters

Download the rulebook, if you haven't already, and start reading at page 76. That contains info as to what weapons each type of ganger can wield, and what the house weapons are. Also, see page 97, for the ability to add additional gear to your gang post-battle.

To answer, yes, all gangers, heavies, and leaders can wield bolters. Not all of them can start with a bolter (in fact, very few can), and you may have to attempt to purchase more post-battle.

Please note, that the starting ganger's equipment is deliberately limited. A bolter is much better than a lasgun, so it is much rarer. Powerfists are incredibly deadly in melee, so they're very rare as well. If you just buy a bunch of cool gear for your gang, with no thoughts to game balance, you may quickly run out of friends to play against.

Enforcers work best at NPCs that come take down the bad guys. They're were the best armor in the game, have the best rifles, and good stats.

The Underhive is a rough place to live. Think Mad Max without all the cars. I've always thought the scene from the one film where the bad guy takes out the pistol case, loads three rounds, leaves three in the case, and puts it away was very fitting. They're short on guns and ammo, injuries are crippling, and people die - regularly.

In the dark future, there are skulls for everyone. But only the bad guys get spikes. And rivets for all, apparently welding was lost in the Dark Age of Technology. -from C.Borer

What about =I=munda? Check out the various modelling projects in the blogs section here! Migsula and co. have been creating some crazy stuff! It's basically Necromunda but with a few modifications enabling players to create Inquisitors bands, Traitors, aliens, etc. You will have more and crazier converting chances!

one thing to remember is that hardly any gang starts out with all the goodies. So, the conversions should start after you've started playing. As suggested earlier, download the living rulebook, have a read, and go from there. Most armies can, at one point or another get those weapons you have asked about. The problem is that those high tech weapons have a tendency to jam, one shot and done or otherwise break at the wrong time. This is to keep things from getting too far out of hand.

It's not that hard, you just need to get into it and take the time to read the rules. This isn't meant as a smart ass remark, I was intimidated by it all as well but once you start reading the book it all kind of becomes clear. Then try to play your first games (maybe even use proxies for your gangs) to try to put to practise what you read. After a while you get the hang of it and will get a clearer picture of what you want.
