So the crab thing is a "Krukari Warrior" for fantasy battles. Doesn't seem to mean anything to google.

These Egyptians will have puddle bases so it'll take some clipping off and filing off to get them nice looking on the Chariots.

Very happy and will be very busy!

I have used the chariots with their Persians and they fit in fine with the puddle bases, and then the guys can get out for skirmish games too.

Not to everyone's tastes, but it worked fine in my games.

I hope someone is working on a box of plastic Sea People to fight (and or ally with) these guys.

Actually, WGA is planning a box of plastic Sea Peoples, it was planned in their Release Schedule and it was in the "Design" phase; i'd love to have one tbh, it'd be a great addition for my Fantasy Egyptian army, as the stereotypical Hollywood "Sherden"-type elite bodyguards for the Pharaoh.

Alas, judging by how WGA releases their kits, it might take years to release them, but who knows? It took only two years for some kits to be designed and released (f.e. The Operators), so im trying not to be a doomer.

I really wish more companies would pick up on the Bronze Age in plastic; anytime anyone releases something in plastic from Ancient times, it's always the Romans,Greeks or the ocassional Barbarians (Gauls, Germanics, etc.), and I don't mind that, as Romans are cool, and I have a few Victrix ones and plan on buying more, but still - literally no company releases plastic Egyptians, Sea People, Mesopotamians, etc. And it genuinely suprises me - it's not like the Ancient period is some sort of highly niche historical period, and some of those civilizations that get no plastic miniatures are some of the most famous civilizations of the Ancient world (f.e. Ancient Egyptians), so im 100% sure it's not a "too niche of a historical faction" thing.

I’m really looking forward to Egyptians and Sea Peoples. I can probably convert some Levantine forces from those kits and, say, Numidians or Mahdists. I had a bunch of fantasy Bronze Age kitbashes based on those and other Victrix kits, but I’d love to play with the real thing.

Why are we talking about sea people or random stuff when they could release these two kits:

Those are literally what I have been looking for years, but I dont vibe with 3rd printing...

Perry Miniatures offers some really cool plastic Gothic plate knights that are similar to these; unfortunately, the coolest-looking sallet helmets that are really big like the ones on these are only in their "Mounted Men at Arms" set. So far i've got three of these Mounted Men at Arms sets, and im stockpiling all the sallets, both the big ones and regular ones, for my Fantasy German army, they look really cool.

Love me some perry but their proportions do not mesh well with most fantasy games, not even most historical ranges that go more on the chunky side like victrix or WGA outside their foot knights.

Absolutely understandable. Personally I used to mind that when I started wargaming, being a person who is very obsessive over details and wanting to have everything done 100% perfectly but over time I got over it, and my wargaming minis collection is a mixture of practically everything - I don't mind the proportions looking slightly off when im having fun, like here:

A photo from my most recent fantasy wargaming session, featuring the Perry knights and some Fireforge knights. Both kits have very distinctive proportions, with the Fireforge ones being far more chunky, and the Perry ones being more realistic, but still - it doesn't look too bad in my opinion and most of all, I had fun gaming!

I agree, however the weapons on those plate knight 3d prints linked are just absurdly huge, even for something like WFB.

Well, Egyptians and Sea Peoples are having somewhat of a.... <ahem>.... renaissance in modern culture thanks to some big books on the Bronze Age collapse in recent years.

Anything interesting in this week's newsletter other than the miniature teaser? Asking, because despite being subscribed I don't receive my newsletter emails from WGA, and I've already seen the miniature teaser on some person's Facebook.

Not much:
Sketch of some classic fantasy battles goblins.
Digital Death Fields set of Stargate-style Egyptians.

I must admit they have slowed down in the last few months with plastic releases, it may be due to the focus on the Damned release.

I also notice they have taken down their release schedule on their site.

I hope all is well at WGA as I love their plastics.

Yeah that was my theory, that it's because they're focusing on the Damned deliveries. For a while I was genuinely worried they cancelled the upcoming plastics as they removed the release schedule, but then the Foot Command got released, and we got the "list of upcoming releases" in the Newsletter E-Mail which containted all of the kits they were bound to release.

Now I only wonder if that list is going to be moving chronologically; if the next kit to be released is the Barons' War Mounted Command and Retinue Box, or it's a roulette between the Mounted Command, the Shipping Containers, the Egyptians and the Damned Army Box (Im singling out these four, as they were the olny ones with the "Coming Soon" next to them the last day the Release Schedule got axed).

As I said, I hope i'll get myself to the Egyptians soon; i've ben waiting for this kit for four years at this point.

they seem to be in the process of revising their website, based on what i've seen. they've redone their sales pages (adding the deathfeilds category, removing the weird war/"the last war" section. etc), and changed how their forums work slightly (removing the "new threads" list, leaving just the "new posts" listing) and so on. so i'd guess that they pulled their release schedule page because it's so out of date, and it'll return after they finish up their kickstarter related efforts and return to making regular releases.

That's what I was thinking too, that it's just a temporary thing until they finally finalize the Damned campaign. From what I heard from the Gamefound comments, they're on the last stretch, last month (?) someone said that they've got less than 40 pledges to fullfill, and they've ben sending pledges to backers as far as Indonesia, so maybe, just maybe, we're gonna finally see the end of the Damned campaign soon, after three years.

I think part of what’s happening at the moment with new releases is that they are trying to build up stock on both sides of the pond before it goes up for sale. I think Andy mentioned in a recent interview that demand for the likes of the Barons War stuff is really high. I suspect they are trying to balance production between keeping things like that in stock and getting new releases out the door.

That's the vibe I got from previous posts. The production on both sides of the Atlantic both slows things slightly but makes product availability more consistent. I think also having a product line tied to their own game, since Andy is in house now, means more quarterly focus on particular lines. All good things, IMO. Hopefully it keeps some people from hounding for an entire Halfling army with multiple different kits.

The News and Rumors section is all about surprises. I'd certainly hate it if we got 100 posts saying "I know something you don't know..." - malfred

Well, never thought i'd see the day. Seems like the Damned Army Box is coming to retail soon. Kinda felt that slowdown had to do with them preparing something big.
