With all the news of the collapse of US house prices I thought (because i have no work to do ATM) that I'd check out house prices in various cities in the US to see what i could afford.
The common theme that leaps out is that you seem to need about as many bathrooms as you do bedrooms and sometimes more.
Hopefully the link will work for the page I'm looking at ATM:
http://www.realtor.com/map/search/searchresults.aspx?ctid=739&mnp=24&mxp=27&typ=1&sid=f3831e16b4bd4c4d89f707d768a7e9da&pg=349
Do you sleep in these bathrooms?
Build small planes?
Use them 9-10 times per day due to food portion size?
Find it impossible to hold on for the 4-5 metre walk to the next bathroom?

It's become the standard in house building to have like 1 less bathroom than the number of bedrooms, generally to give private bathrooms to at least a few of the bedrooms. Beyond that, and it becomes some weirdo's fetish.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.
But there's no sense crying over every mistake;

Here in Australia we used to have 1 per house, but there would be 1 main bathroom and an ensuite for the main bedroom if 4 or more rooms.
Now its crept up to 3 bathrooms for 4 or more bedrooms.
Creepy.

Talking about the UK...
My grandparents' house (late Victorian) had two bathrooms with lavatories, two separate lavatories, and washbasins in all four bedrooms. That was a fairly posh house though.
Modern British middle class homes consider it essential to have two bathrooms minimum.
The trend for big, expensive homes is to build or convert them to one bathroom per bedroom.
Japanese homes only have one bathroom.

It's to meet the rush demand. 4 people in the house, everyone has to be out the door at 8, they all need showers... you get the idea.
My apartment in Beijing has 3 bathrooms, 2 showers.

I'm selling my house now and buying a new one soon after. Looking around now. I'm finding it's really just the older houses like 50+ years old that just have 1 bathroom.
For a normal sized house I think 1.5 baths is all ya need. 1 powder room on the main floor so you can run and pee during commercials, and for guests to use when they visit. Then 1 big bathroom with the tub and all upstairs or where all the bedrooms are.
Master bathrooms aren't a selling point for me at all, i think they're more of a girl thing since most couples I know it's always the wife with all her stuff in the master bath and the guy is stuck using the other bathroom.
What sucks though is if I ever want to resell, I'm going to need a master bathroom that's awesome because without that, no wives will convince their husbands to buy my house since they are all brainwashed by HGTV.

Having two kids under four, and a wife, the only quiet time that I get is in the head, can, toilet, bathroom, water closet.
If we ever finish our basement, it will have a full bath. Saves me and the kids running up the steps to use one. And the shower will be my shower, which just means that there won't be 8 different bottles of shampoo in it.

To answer the question in your title:
I like to poop. Thank you for asking.
I find it relaxing and, afterwards, I feel (no pun intended) like a load has been lifted.
Peeing is more of a requirement than a desire, though. I'd prefer to hold it in and go when I make brown.
Now, as for the topic on the actual post...
As has been said, one bathroom just isn't enough. When you hve 4 people in the house, the likelyhood that the bathroom will be "in use" at any given time of the day is, probably, 25%. If you have more than one female in your house, raise the probablility to 80%. if they have (female) guests, the odds sit arouns 275%.
Two full baths are, IMO, a minimum. There should be one in the basement, as well (so, 1 up & 1 down or, in larger houses, 2 up, 1 down.

Precisely. Although, I'm not sure that the average colon has the structural integrity to actually build up quite that much pressure, the point being the a "hull breach" of ANY sort or magnitude would be considered, by most, to be negative.

Apparently people who manage to get themselves really severely constipated tend to back up at the other end, rather than explode.
