How do you make small flush rivets in quantity.

Im building a chaos (khorne) vehicle and i want it to be full of rivets holding metal plates on for extra armor. the rivets will be brass collored so they will stand out from the vehicle ..but i dont want huge ones like orks model.

Any sugestions would be welcome.

Here's an Article about making studs and domed rivets. http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Adding_Studs_to_Your_Models

I don't know if the PVA glue rivet would stand up to the handling got by the hull of a vehicle.

Here's a video about making flush head rivets on aircraft. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_kxgE0RVY38

Bolt heads are hexagonal. You could make those out of plastic rod or green stuff. It's probably rather fiddly.

Here's a model detailing kit consisting of armour retaining bolts -- these could look good on a big vehicle. There must be more kits like this out there.

Well, in case you have the time and patience, there´s always the plasticard + leather hole punch plan...

It´s what I used for the rivets on my Knight Walker, in this thread:

Which obviously reminds me, I need to start that project up again...

But anyways, given an hour´s work you can make, and put, 30-40 or so of these on a model. It takes time, but I think it looks rather good...

Someone should add these rivet making methods to the glue stud article.

Take a Pen. Break it open so all you have is the tube half filled with ink.

(Don't make a mess with the ink)

One end of this tube is the writing side of the pen. The other end is a hollow cylinder with a small yet perfect circle inside. This is your Rivet Stamp. Put some Green or Grey stuff on your mini and press the tip of this tube into the stuff.

When you release it, you will have a rivet and some smashed green stuff. Just scrape away the access stuff and do it again.

I used the white/pva glue idea on my baneblade's dozer blade and it came out pretty good. Never did finish that dozer blade though... another project for another day...
