I have a Apoc game coming up this weekend and I just recently finished my first big forgeworld project a warhound titan. Best part is only one person in my gaming group even knows i have it and he doesn't know it's painted (should be a surprise since i haven't painted much else i own)

However i would like to get some quick tips on how most people play it as i see some questions coming up.

How to determine armor facings?
(I have modeled mine with magnets holding the torso to the legs so it can actualy pivit at the hip. Do i go with the leg possistion or the torso as i'm likely to turn it towrads what ever target i'm firing at. Or should i just resist that temptation?)

Blast templates, and other models?
(Seeing as the titan can obviously be considered multi-leveled as other models or vehicles even can be placed underneath it. When getting shot at by blast templets do you resolve hits againsts the people below as well as the titan,or say the titan is hit based on legs or torso, or make the shooter declare before firing, if he's shooting at the top and thus only hitting titan he can claim the torso or legs possibly both but less likely on the warhound?)

If you've come over some other rules complications let me know about those as well, I'm in a fairly competitive group that is just starting to expand into the Big arena so we're finding a lot of grey areas that need to be finalized.

Torso, as that's the main hull.

Given the above answer, I'd say it's targetting the level of the torso, so no spill-over.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake;
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

I have not read the new Apoc book. If there is not a section in it that gives more details about how super-heavy walkers are treated, then you should then default to the walker section in the 5th ed rule book on facing and shooting.

the second question is up to your game group. There is no rule about multi-level 'units' that I have ever seen or read. All vehicles, super-heavy or not, that carry troops are treated as transports. So with that said, by RAW, the Titan is just another unit and should be treated as such. Technically you shouldn't have anything 'under' your titan anyways given that two units are not supposed to occupy the same space, friendly or not.

But all this is subject to your gaming group, as per the most important rule of having fun.

True they shouldn't take up the same space but that gets defeated by the assaulting rules as enamy models will have to assault the Warhounds feet and thus be "Under" the torso if they come from the front. This of course could be solved by me making a Base for it but I really like the look of it on foot.

There's nothing multi-level involved, as far as I know--the rules just don't have any exceptions for absurdly tall models. By strict RAW, if an enemy model was standing between a warhound's feet, no one could target template on against that model since it would involve one side or the other targeting a friendly model. Otherwise, if a template overlaps on two models, whether or not the two models overlap when looking down on them, the template hits both.

Assuming you're just using the Apocalypse rules for the Warhound, the Warhound only counts as a single model for shooting purposes. You should probably double check with the other players what you'll be using to determine the front arc of the model, whether it's going to be based on which way the torso, head or feet are facing. As long as you're consistent, whichever way is fine.

create a base for your warhound. clears up the multi-level issue and you get to be standing over some cool terrain.

read the rules for blast and vehicles will clear up the armor facing issue.

enjoy your warhound
