SO i just thought of this idea from writting someone about a rough rider idea. I saw on the history channel, a show about new military weapons and whatnot. they had this crazy piston powered pogo leg thing that a soldier could strap onto his legs and the power source was on the back like a big back pack. basically it made the wearer able to run upto 35mph and could leap over cars and whatnot fully armed.
SO it hit me i need to make a stormboy squad look like that. the best part is it would totally be an orky thing to do. SO if anyone sees a mini like this in the near future, you saw it here. ok heres a crude drawing of the idea. seriously comment and help me build on this idea

An ork clutching a giant steam-powered pogo stick might be even fluffier

Seriously, my only concern is that visually it will look like an ork wearing small stilts - it won't be immediately obvious that they're pogo legs,although you could pose a few mid-bounce

thats what i was thinking. have one completely compressed as the other leg is in mid jump off a rock or sumthing. id have to make them all in motion so you look at the squad and say "hey those ARE jumping"

cracker, quick idea to make them look like pogo legs instead of stilts, use thick springs on them, will make them look like they work, and should be stable enough to hold some weight.

now THAT was a good idea. deffinetly throwing springs on them lol

Just replace their legs with pogos. This is orks we're talkin' 'bout, not oomies. Orks with better partz, dadz wat iz say.

naw i dont want to loose the legs completely. thats not the image i have in my head. that would look orky as well but still not what im going for

NICE! If you can pull this off, it will be superb! Can I suggest at least one model in the squad who hasn't quite got it right and has both legs going in different directions, like he's misbounced?

a more detailed idea on what i said:

square steel plate stompa (foot of pogo)
spring from that and attatched to a leg brace for support.

its going to be a lil while before i can start on this project since money is a wee bit tight. BUT eventually ill get this puppy going. i always do!
i like the idea of the stompa.(thats what im refering to the foot part of pogo now) ill hake it thick with like 4 tiny spikes or nubs on it for that extra stompy feel

something like 5mm plasticard would work well.


i dont need much money for my squig boyz, the missus has a squig farm ill raid (over 300 at last count) and just thinking of where to get decent wings now.

yea i pretty much have the step by step in my head of how ill go about making those. the only money part really i need to worry about is buying a box set of boyz.
this might be far fethced for your wings but i know the older eldar swooping hawks had some smallish wings that prolly would look great. now how easy it would be to get your hands on them is another story.

maybe a looted eldar jetbike strapped to his back might be an idea that'd work...its different but original.

ha this will be funny to see across the battlefield. Orks definately have the most personality.

on another note to my spring idea, how about pnumatic pogo sticks?
